I have recently done some basic mods on a couple watches. But I'm just starting out with this stuff.
First was an SRPE. Replaced the bracelet, crystal, chapter ring, and bezel to make a Datejusty style. Attached File Second was just swapping a movement around so that I could have a proper acrylic crystal. Attached File |

I think my next one will be a gold cased dive watch with a seamaster style bezel. Can't decide on a dial...probably will do a GMT since I don't have one yet.
Has anyone sent casebacks out to get engraved anywhere? I'd like to engrave the ones I made for the kids, but there space is really tight since they're clear ones. I need a place that can do really small lettering that isn't going to charge an arm and a leg. I might try a local place... |

Since you have the clear case backs, get a rotor weight sticker engraved. There''s a guy in the U.K. that does it.I''ve purchased 2 covers from him, and his work is spot on.
He goes by nattyjade on ebay. I tried to copy a link and post it, and it went wacko on here. |

Just peel and stick. |

Recently came across a new watch band website everyone might enjoy parts from.
https://www.partsforwatch.com/product/bracelet-acier-steel-strap-band-21mm-for-rolex-deepsea-explorer-ii-replacement/ This is their copy of the 21mm Deepsea Sea Dweller band and glidelock clasp. The Sea Dweller Gildelock Clasp is possibly the best clasp design currently made. 20mm of quick adjustment is very nice. They also offer the glidelock clasp for GMT and Sub bands. The Sea Dweller clasp accepts 9mm oyster bracelet connections and 18mm bracelet width. |

This is probably my favorite thread on the entire site, you guys are awesome! That being said, if one were to look up youtube videos on how to do certain things, whom would you recommend?

Any of you guys done a build to wear on the right? I'm left handed so I wear my watches on the right. I've always understood that the crown should point towards your hand. In fact, for whatever reason, my Citizen ecozilla is set up to wear on the right but I've never noticed any other watches this way. I wondered about just turning the case to the proper direction and rotating the movement accordingly but the I see that dials have legs or pins that fit into the movement. Would you cut them off and use a sticker?
I'm just beginning to dip my toes into the pool... TIA! |

I broke the bezel on my new watch. What size to I need? the OD of the bezel is Ø1.493" and the ID is Ø1.029" (converts to Ø37.922 mm and Ø30.709 mm respectively). The "rotating bezel" measures ID Ø1.498", OD Ø1.300" (Ø38.049 mm and Ø33.02 mm respectively). Everything is in metric and I can't find one that fits. It would be easy if I could find one that said it would fit a Ø1.500" x Ø1.300" but I can't find anything. The one I have is ceramic, but I think I might be too destructive and should have an aluminum one. If ceramic is all that is available I will get that. See Photo below for my shame. Sorry for photo quality, the camera at work sucks. Attached File |

Hard to see, but yours is a slanted style, not flat ? If flat then 31.5 is what you seek for inside diameter. Be ready to spend big bucks. Go to AliX, type in 38mm bezel insert, and choose your poison. Should be about 4 bucks to maybe 7. Aluminum is cheapest. |

A new insert will come with a new double sided tape ring. Clean the old off the bezel, nail polish remover works great. Clean with alcohol on a q tip, and let dry. It's best to put the new tape on the insert side. At the doc office. Gotta go. |
