Dammit, that "candy cigarettes" thread made this one irresistible to me.

Right now I'm remembering Fun Dips. It had two or three comparments in the package that contained flavored powder, and then another compartment with a solid sugar stick that said "Lick-M-Aid" on it, which I never did quite figure out what that meant. Had some doofussy orange-skinned cartoon kid in a light green t-shirt on the package. I don't remember it being especially good, and it was like sandpaper on the bloody roof of my mouth by the time I got done with it, but I couldn't resist buying it.

dood, they still make fun dip. you are supposed to lick the stick and then dip it in the goody and then lick it off.

I didn't know that! I've been ordering them online and sending them to my sibling packed in dry ice to keep them from melting. Sibling has an August B-Day and that's what I sent him.

LOL, I get the concept, but why dis the stick have "Lick-M-Aid" on it when the stuff is called Fun Dip? That's one of the 7 unanswered questions of my childhood.

I remember Fun Dip. The Rainbo Thrift Store sold those along with a wonderful variety of sugar-laden baked goods.

HOOOLLLEEEESHIT YA!! almost breaking teeth on it. I get some every christmas but it is not the same.

OK found a local upscale candy shop with amazing chocolate, the tough as shit real sugar old school gummie bears that would kill someone if you threw them, awesome hard candy and mini real kick ass swedish fish...

My favorite back in the day was Spree candy.

They still make it, but it just doesn't seem to taste quite as good as it did back then.

I can't figure out if that's because they changed the recipe, or if my taste buds changed.

I met someone from M&M Mars Corporate and asked him that very question back in 2001. He told me that to break even on making something considering manufacturing, you literally had to sell millions and millions of candy bars. I honestly couldn't believe this candy bar wasn't that great of a seller.

Brach's butterscotch hard candies. If you sucked on them long enough they would develop really sharp edges and it was almost like having a razor blade in your mouth.

Yep, that's another one I've noticed that is MIA. Interestingly enough, you can find it mixed in with other candy in a big bag available at Sam's.

Got it at the store by my house. They also have zots, chicostix and the silver dollar size sweet tarts
