I use a M261. This. It just runs, AND was designed with a bolt hold open. |

His kits either work great or they don't work at all. The worst customer service reputation in the firearms accessory business.
I had one for the Glock and it worked OK, but bought one for the AR and never could get it to work right. Gave it away to someone to buy an old Air Force kit and it worked great in the same rifle. Now I run a CMMG and it works great. |
|
Amazingly, I mailed a check with my order for a kit, and received it about 3 weeks later. The kit also ran fine right out of the box. I called before I sent in my order, and a lady answered the phone w/o cussing me out and answered my questions.
I must be blessed, I've always gotten my orders from Botach delivered right on time too Just a data point for your consideration... the legends about him on the Internet are amazing, right up there with Todd Bailey. |

had a customer years ago with a Ceiner 1911 conversion on a new Kimber frame (non-series II) that was having all kinds of issues.
Sent it to Ceiner, he sent it back saying the frame was bad!! He is a douche of the highest order.. |

He must have pissed off someone with clout. Gossip of his customer service practices are legendary First thing I thought also. My guess: He sold some conversion kits to a PD for training and then gave them the same customer service he gave everyone else. |

you know, you'll hear positives and negatives about any business.
Mr. Ciener is the exception; I've never heard anyone say anything positive about him. Ever. |

Oh yeah, I forgot that lady, it was so long ago. I got that lady when I called, oh man was she grumpy. I had her connect to Ciener, and before I could get two words out, Ciener hung up.

I remember someone posted a story about buying a conversion kit that kept ejecting back unto the shooters head. When asked to fix it, Jonathan reportedly replied, "Buy a Hat".

what a prick.
Just waiting for someone else to make an AC556 kit. |
|
I just scoured the archives trying to find the thread from Miami_JBT regarding Ciener. Miami_JBT appears to be locked or banned but as I recall he had an issue with Ciener and drove from Miami to Brevard County to track Ciener down and apparently, Ciener was as douchey as he is claimed.

Lets hope the ATF has NOTHING to do with this , cause you know if anyone can fuck a case up , it'd be them . . . . this time

One thing I will say , the man had some serious toys .
Guns, cars ,artillery , bikes , etc, etc. If his shit went up for auction , even if you couldn't afford it , it'd be worth it for anyone within driving distance of Port Canaveral to go check it out . ETA: Nothing yet in the Florida Today Maybe they're being nice to him for all the advertising money he spent in their classifieds looking for machinists I shit you not , back in the 90's anyways , that guy had a perpetual ad in the 'help wanted' section. . . . for years !!! |

Here's the extent of my conversation with him:
"hi, I'd like to order a spare firing pin for my kit" "buy a second kit and disassemble it" <click> |

If convicted of the felony charge, will he be permitted to work for his own (Class II) company? Nope |

I always found it really funny that he made a .22lr kit for the Ruger Mini-14, or 'How to turn your Mini-14 into a 10/22 for more than a 10/22 costs'.
|
|
I wonder if they will get him under the RICO act for racketeering... Since he was consistent in the way he took money and backordered and sold product to others at gun shows.

The only reason I own one of his kits is because it was the only one I could lay hands on during the great conversion rush a couple of years ago, and Midway had it in stock so I knew I wouldn't experience his legendary customer service. |

Safe to assume there will not be a fundraiser for his defense fund like there was for Cav Arms? No DAY 1 posts?
I am kidding, Getting pinched like that could not have happened to a better douche. |

Quoted: Quoted: He is probably being charged for money he took from customers but never delivered a product. Then when you call or write to ask on the status of your order he would bill you $15!!!!! There are numerous reports of people ordering stuff and never receiving. It is even documented with the cashing of postal money orders. I will only buy his stuff second hand, he was an ass to me on the phone back 2005. I was at Knob Creek one time when he had a big pile of his conversion kits for sale and a man arrived who had ordered on line or by phone and was given the old "backorder" run around. The guy got pissed and it almost came to a fight because Ceiner would not give him one there and insisted he had to wait for his order to be filled. Ceiner was wearing a pirate hat the entire time. Appropriate. that happened about once a day |
|
Having talked to him in person a few times, his reputation as being a real sweetheart was well deserved. |
