aside from taking apart a p232 that belonged to one of my Dad's employees, I really have no experience with it.
I do however own an Interarms USA built PPK/S that belonged to my Grandmother. Pretty simple gun to disassemble, the safety/decock is like that of the later P.38. However all of that being siad, I'm really not a fan of the pistol. Last time I shot it, my left thumb kept hitting the mag release, while the web of my right hand kept getting by the slide |

I've owned 3 p230/232 sigs and for some reason I have a bad habit of trading guns. I'll eventually get another on in P232/locks open on empty mag. And in the alloy frame. Ergonomics are very good and I believe the best 380 built. Used in OK with this gun since it's not typically a shooter and usually in fine condition. I've never handled the ppk/s but not convince they are as reliable as the sig.

I've found my PPK/S to be finicky about the ammo it eats. It will digest American made factory ammo just fine, but the Sellior and Bellot ammo tends to jam about 2 times every mag. I have a WW2 Sauer and Sohn 38H that seems likes anything I put into it and is quite accurate. I have no experience with the other hangun.

I own a pre-68 German made PPK in .380. The quality and reliability is superb. My Dad owns a stainless S&W PPK/s, which I have fired a few times. The quality does not appear good at all and it jams (fails to feed) at least once in every mag, even with FMJ ammo. I have no experience with the Sig, but I would not buy the S&W PPK/s.

No firing pin block many police departments etc will not allow them for back up by older I meant back to interarms have owned a couple and handled dozens of early war and Pre War PPs/PPKs they are quite nicely made and smooth Interarms guns were passable but still unreasonably heavy double action and a bit sharp/rough the current SW guns are fucking horrid sharp as a knife , unreliable , double action pull bordering on impossible for a mortal man to pull but like is always said that's just like your opinion man.... |

The PPS is an ok little pistol, but I don't think I'll ever get used to reaching for the trigger guard to drop a mag. REALLY small. I have small hands, and without the extended mag it just wouldn't be comfortable at all. |

I have a stainless Sig 232 that I bought several years ago. It's a decent shooter. Zipping through the magazine putting them all into the target is a zen like experience.
It'll cut the web your hand just like a PPK too if you hold it with a high grip or have ham fists. It also has the same Euro style grip heel mag release and the mag doesn't drop free, you have to pull it out. Recoil on those blowback guns is slappy. It almost stings your hand like a .357 with wood grips. |

The PPK has the James Bond classic vibe but a stainless 230/232 with Nill grips is hands down the sexiest handgun ever:
The SIG is an incredibly intuitive pointing gun. It holds and handles like nothing else out there. Were it only possible to make the exact same gun in full 9mm,it would be perfect. |

SIG P-232, hands down.
I own two, and I love them. The old, German made Walthers were very nice, but the quality on Interarms or Smith and Wesson PPKs doesn't hold a candle to them. ETA: Damn keyboard. |

My wife wanted a PPK/s because it was a cool gun and it fit her hands well. It went to the range twice; jammed on everything we fed it and then went back to S&W for the recall. During the following months while waiting for it to come back I bought her a Berretta PX4 SC. When we got it back, it jammed a little less but is just plain unpleasant to shoot. Now the PPK only goes to the range when I'm introducing new shooters to handguns.

I have both. I quit carrying the PPK/S when I got the Aluminum framed Sig P232.
I think the PPK/S is a good pistol. I think the Aluminum frame P232 is a great carry pistol. FYI, my PPK/S is an Interarms import. |

I would buy another P232 at $400 just to have a spare. The S&W PPK/S got some bad reviews when it came out & that may hold the price down on them. Some people loved the S&W version. Some did not. |

The Interarms ones were pretty well made, I had a couple of them and had no problems with them. Never cared much for the Sauer.

It is (with a sealed slide rather than the open top). Having had a PPK, a Beretta 84, and a P232. The P232 is the best of the bunch for a flat, single stack .380. The trigger is better than the Walther, feels better in the hand (however, the PPK/s has a longer grip...might have changed things a bit over the PPK). The Beretta 84 (fat grip...but it doesn't feel as fat as the M9...it 'fills the hand' better, and has 13 rounds) would be my favorite overall, but if you want more a pocket pistol go with the P232. I carried a PPK/s for a few years, currently own a PPK (both Interarms, I won't buy the S&W abortion) STIFF DA and tiny sights but I shoot it better than many full size guns. I'll never get rid of my PPK.
The 232 is much more practical for carry though IMO, less snaggy and not as ammo sensitive. Get a stainless one. |

If you want function over form,get a PPS. Lighter,bigger round and believe it or not less recoil. You'll get used to the mag release in no time. The down side is that it's ugly as a sack of hammered arseholes compared to the classics.
The only other thing I have to add about the SIG and PPK is that if you have a high hold,expect to get railroad tracks at least once. |

While they are great guns, PPK's and PPKS's tear the shit out of the web of my hand. That is not the case with the P230 or P232.
As far as quality goes I think the Sigs are the best .380's on the market, and the accuracy is outstanding. I vote Sig P232 SL. JMO and YMMV. Hope this helps. |

My SIL has a Sig 232; accurate, very nice pistol but the heel magazine release... meh. I've owned both a Beretta 85F and 84F; both accurate and very pleasant to shoot, but you may as well buy the 84F and gain the extra magazine capacity because the 85F isn't a whole lot thinner or lighter. |
