Other units made no effort to remove the insignia. Bear in mind that this was done about the same time that the UK "Desert Rats" were painting their rodent insignia on their vehicles, so it was more of a nostalgic thing than any desire to be National Socialist. My CC had the German cross flag flying from one of his antennas to let us know where his tank was in the formation. Marines identify with the military professionalism of the Wehrmacht-small, well trained, very motivated, and highly lethal. National Socialism has no place in the USMC, and is not generally looked up to in my experience. |

I'm shocked and appalled by this. Appalled. The USMC is renowned for their sensitivity, political correctness and commitment to not hurt other's feelings. Seeing these two sully that when they're supposed to instead be reaching the brainstems hearts of those who need our understanding most just dismayed me.
We look to the USMC to reach out to those who don't yet understanding us, to be America's cradling arms offering friendship and love. These two obviously don't carry that message in their harts. I'm sad for them and for those they've emotionally wounded. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

This is yet another example of proof that more sensitivity training is needed as part of annual training requirements for our Marines. Obviously, there was a failure in the Marine's chain of command to take sensitivity training seriously. |
