The Chinese built a few Lugers as part of a feasability study. But Norinco never put them into production. |
|
I bet it never went into production because they realized that it costs too much to make it.

Nice checkering on the stocks, lol. I guess it doesn't look awful. Lugers are hard to make, unlike rubber dogshit.

Norinco probably decided the P08 was too much of an engineering marvel to mess with.
Too many finely machined parts to mess with. |

The Chinese made a pretty good copy of the C-96 Broomhandle mauser, in .45 ACP no less. They are very expensive pistols. I don't see why they couldn't make a decent P08 Luger.

Bless their little capitalizing, communist hearts.
One of these days, they're going to be the free country looking down on the backwards, socialist Americans. |

That thing is fucking ugly. I never understood the obsession with those things.

I would buy a repro Luger if it was priced right. I got to shoot an original for the first time the other day and was very impressed. One of the best shooting guns I have ever shot.

Yeah, the C96 "Wauser" was definitely a great leap in human technology that we can thank the Chinese for.

Yeah, I remember the two freighters, both from China, one in NY, the other in SF who were denied permission to dock for several weeks while Willie figured out the wording on the EO that officially refused them. One was loaded with guns, the other with ammo. Funny, he banned importation of Norinco products due to "human rights violations" on the part of the PRC, but renewed their MFN trading status for products like you buy at Wal-Mart. Wow, he was really serious about shutting down their sweatshops, wasn't he? Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

The M14/s has been rebuilt with USGI parts on the original receiver and is a great gun. The trench gun replica works great now after a bit of smoothing. |

Quoted: I bet it never went into production because they realized that it costs too much to make it. Even with cheap labor and modern CNC machinery. Shows the simple brilliance of Mr. Browning's 1911 design. |

Quoted: Not a pistol I would bother with unless it's an original. At typical Norinco prices, there isn't much I wouldn't bother with. I'd like to see that ban overturned. The Chinese can make good stuff when they want to, and I'd happily buy some. |

Some of their stuff is crap, some is good quality but rough in finish. They depending upon the model can make good project guns as they use tool grade steel and the metal is very tough. Are thoose Wiked Grips? |

They are made at several different plants. Some of thier guns are flat out garbage, others are great builds. The 1911 in .45 or 9mm is good. The 870 Clone is good with a 870P extractor. Some of the other stuff is average. There is lot to lot inconsistency some guns are ok some are not. Look at what your buying first. |
