It's time I set my 1895 up and I could use a little inspiration.
So if you'd be so kind, post 'em up!

Quoted: I don't have a picture of my 1894, but it's factory. Mine's the same. I'd like to add some glass, a sling and maybe a shell pouch. Would like to see how some here have theirs set up.

That's an XS rail, but the gun came from the factory as pictured. I would suggest buying a PRE-Remington gun, though. Marlin's QC has slipped badly in the past few years.
What kind of rail is that, and did yours come with an extended mag tube or did you put it on? |

Go look at all the picture threads in the Lever Action Forum.

Also, where are you guys getting your leather slings? I got mine for around $40.00 but I cant remember which site I bought it from. It's a Desantis. http://www.desantisholster.com/store/SEARCH-BY-HOLSTER-OR-ACCESSORY/SLINGS/BASKETWEAVE-SLING Edit - Optics Planet has them for a decent price and free shipping. http://www.opticsplanet.com/desantis-ambidextrous-tan-basketweave-suede-lined-sling-s12tj01z0.html |

I don't have any pics of my model 94 handy, but like one of the posters above I set it up with an XS ghost ring sight, and a short scout-type rail. I couldn't hit squat with the factory leaf sight and forward blade - I didn't think the ghost would make much of a difference, but it's a night-and-day change.Good enough that I haven't bothered to put a scope on it yet.

Marlin 1894 in .44 Mag. It's one of the rifles made since Remington bought Marlin. Runs and shoots fine.
Rossi M92 in .357. Just got it Thursday, haven't shot it yet. Winchester 9422 XTR Classic in .22 LR. 1978 vintage Marlin 336 in .30-30. I've since removed the Eagle stock pack because it made it hard to use the iron sights. |

Quoted: Stainless Rossi 38/357 16" bbl with GP100. The Ruger weighs damn near as much. http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/uu289/somebodys/291.jpg How do you like it? Have you tried .38 as well as .357 through it? I started hankering for a stainless lever action (in .357/.38) and came across the 1894 CSS from Marlin only to find out they stopped making them a few years back, but have yet to update their website. I'm curious about the Rossi as they seem to be the only game in town, but from what I gather putting a scope on the 92-style is slightly more difficult than an 1894. |

Runs great with .38 spl and .357. There is a thread in the lever guns forum titled "prettiest Rossi 92" with some good info on sights. |
