If your eyes follow the movement of the rotating pink dot, the dots will remain only one color, pink

However if you stare at the black  "+" in the center, the moving dot turns to green.

Now, concentrate on the black "+" in the center of the picture;
After a short period, all the pink dots will slowly disappear, and you will only see only a single green dot rotating.

It's amazing how our brain works.
There really is no green dot, and the pink ones really don't disappear.

Can you see an old woman or a beautiful young lady?

Do you see two oldies looking at each other or are you staring at a young man playing guitar and a young lady with a vase on her head?

Is the left center circle bigger than the right center circle?

No, they're both the same size.

Stare at the cross and quickly move your head
forward and backward, towards and away from the
screen. The circles will appear to be moving.

Looks like a spiral, right?

Wrong... It's a bunch of independent circles

An island, right?

Turn it upside down, and you'll see
what it really is: a crater

Right side up it's a giant bird..

Upside down it's a guy catching a big fish...

With the first illusion, the dot appears to turn green because the pink leaves a green mark on your field of vision, and when that pink dot disappears you can see the green aftereffect on your retina.

After staring for a while move your eyes, and you'll see a ring of green dots.

Those "moving" ones hurt my eyes.

THE Right Brain vs Left Brain test ... do you see the dancer turning clockwise or counter-clockwise?

If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.

Most people see the dancer turning counter-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.

Are the horizontal lines parallel or do they slope?

How many colors do you see?

There are only 3 colors: White, green, and pink.
There seem to be two different shades of pink, but there is only one pink.

Do you see two silhouetted faces staring at each other or simply an ornate vase?

This is another famous image. What do you see in it? Some see an Indian and others see an Eskimo, can you see both?

The spinning lady is a bit of a trick, there is really no 'left brain' vs 'right brain' in that image. It's just how your brain makes the assumption of motion without perspective (caused by your experiences).

If you want to see it spin the opposite way of what you see naturally check these out. The lines add the perspective that is missing and making your brain make the assumption of direction without enough info

I had seen the spinning girl before but I couldn't remember how to get her to change direction for the longest time. Then I noticed if you (me) look at her shadow/reflection she changes direction immediately.

Oh, clockwise is the default that I see her spin. I'm a machinist and I am condiotioned to see things spinning clockwise 99% of the time. I bet anyone here that's a machinist or likewise exposed to something(s) that spin mostly clockwise all day long will see a clockwise spin at least at first.

If you have trouble doing it, try looking or focusing elsewhere. I was having trouble doing it, until I started reading the text above the animation. I noticed that when I only look at it in my periferal (sp?) vision, it starts to go counter clockwise. Freaky.

i can change it just by looking at the foot and basically telling myself left foot or right foot and when I look back up she is spinning that way.  focus right between the shadow and the foot.

I usually see the spin as clockwise.  Sometimes after not looking awhile I'll scroll back past it and the spin will be the other way.  I can stare at it and force it to spin one way or the other...  So I guess I use both... with a slight lean toward right brain.
