Some will consider this "cheap".  I certainly don't, but the $2k 1911 guys will

I have a Firestorm.  Awesome 1911. I have 1000's of rounds through it and not a single issue. Completely unmolested too.

Paid $220 for it when they first hit here in the US.

They got rid of the billboard and went to a dime sized logo behind the rear serrations.

Para 14.45 Expert for $549 with a $100 mail in rebate.

Under $500 after shipping and transfer for a Para 14.45 Expert stainless. Still have my regrets about not pulling the trigger.

My RIA 1911 Tac.  I bought it in 2011, as I figured that 100 years after the gun was released I should buy one.  Love this gun.  only issues I've had have been all magazine related with Wilson Combat 47Ds with FTFs.  The cheapy magazines I have are the best ones I've got and have never had an issue with them.

All I've gone and done was change to some VZ grips.

Glad you don't have any problems.

I bought a Firestorm 1911 back in 2003 or so and it was a piece of crap jam-o-matic. Sent it back to the factory twice and nothing changed- still a piece of shit.

Now, are they cheap as in cheap shitty materials or are they "cheap" as in they have loose tolerances. You know, like how the 1911 was initially designed?
Link Posted: 11/14/2014 5:26:59 PM EDT

Honestly my cheapest one. Less than $500. Has a match bushing, hand-fitted barrel, tightened slide and frame. hand cut checkering and stippling.

Never mind it was all done in the 50s when no one gave a shit about esthetics...damn thing shoots like you would not believe.

Yeah, it's a high polished blue now, but...man, does it shoot.

I had a Charles Daly 1911 but gave it to my son. That was the only cheap one I had.  Ran like a watch, but was inaccurate as hell when it got warm.

I had one of these.  It was my first semi-auto handgun.  Traded it off as soon as I could, it jammed at least once a magazine.
