Three reasons: 1. The Prequels We as moviegoing audiences all got hyped over them and thought they'd be the shit, when they got progressively worse and worse, and it turned out they were just shit. Everyone's already forgotten it since it was so fucking bad. So far we have one line from him, but keep in mind he hated Han Solo. 3. Abrams Space Adventure Action Blast-Zap Movie Trek Pew pew pew explosion pew pew zap explosion. Lens flare trek was flashy but vapid. Lots of zap pew pew zap run around yelling, characters made into caricatures with one trait, but not really that much of a movie. We've already seen what happens with that in Star Wars - it was called Episodes 2 & 3. My kid and I just watched the trailer. It is great to hear Luke and see Chewie and Han. I am will to bet that Leah will be in the next trailer. Word is she lost a ton of weight for the part and is a very pretty older lady in the film. Good for her. |

That was Luke doing the voice-over, right? The first five times I watched the trailer I just assumed it was, but with all of the speculation about who's who's kid and all, maybe it is actually Luke's kid or something? It does sound like Luke, but it is not the original from ROTJ... And the voice sounds WAYYYY too young to be an old fart Mark Hamil.
Or maybe I have become a nerd and it is time to finally face facts

Lukes Voice, Luke kneeling with R2, Leia passing on LS to her daughter......
maybe 2 bad guys? one SIth with Sabre and one Bad A$$ looking Mandalorian throwback (cloak and blaster-no sabre shown)? if you go frame by frame you will notice when STroopers turn about face you can see what appears to be bad guy leader standing below the new Empire logo/banner on the portico above all troopers and the Black Ties. |

Very happy George Lucas isn't involved in this. The darker tone is hopefully a sign of a serious movie as opposed to episodes 1 through 3. It sounds to me like this next trilogy is really going to dig into the Sith mythology and bring it to the big screen which is good. I definitely have my hopes up for this one.
Lucas is participating as a creative consultant but that's it and from what I get from all the stuff I've been reading, he's basically been told to go sit in the corner for the majority of the production. Plot goes Luke in exile guarding SIth Tomb(marka ragnos or darth plagueis) and Darth Vader supposedly returning(if you listen to the dialogue in the trailer. The narrator is Luke). |

I took note that the Tie Fighters in a number of scenes were obviously hovering and blasting the shit out of an Imperial Tie fighter hangar. The front glass on them is totally reflective, so cool! The Falcon flies up the tail pipe of the crashed Imperial Star Destroyer.

If Vader learned the secret from Palpatine then he could use it to return. I can already hear Yoda criticizing it as wreckless. |
