Look, I know a lot of folks like to be in denial here, but I'm not seeing it. It's a generic depiction of a guy eating a watermelon, nothing "stereotypical" about it. Watermelon is a serious crop in Alabama.

Heck, this has gotten so crazy, I bet it's safe to say that this:

...is one beauty queen title/sash the racists don't have to worried about being awarded to a black gal any time soon.

Saw what coming?

It is actually racist to be offended at a picture of a black person eating a water melon.

In a "color blind" society, the artist could totally innocently have drawn a picture of a black man eating a water melon.

Would it be offensive if it were a white man?

If not, then those who are offended are actually the racists because they've based their offence on the race of the subject.

Stereotypical characterized cartoon? Do you work at being obtuse?

Right or wrong, nobody saw that and thought, "that's not going to go over well"?

Now that's a watermelon I would enjoy eating.

EVERYBODY IN THE SOUTH LIKES FRIED CHICKEN AND WATERMELON.

It's hot as fuck and a nice cold watermelon is fucking delicious on days when it's so fucking hot and humid that your knickers could qualify as a federal fucking wetland. Fried chicken and watermelon served at picnics or social functions is something EVERYBODY DOES.

They also serve macaroni salad or macaroni and cheese, but somehow macaroni isn't fucking racist. WHY NOT?

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

"If you are reading this message and you are white, you may be thinking something along the lines of, “I understand that this was a racially insensitive image, but it is such a small thing, an artifact of the past, and everyone understands that it is confined to the past.” But it is precisely that attitude by those of us who are white, that makes it such a big thing to a person who is black," Westmoreland writes.

"A couple of weeks ago, an African-American male, a retired executive, sat in my office and cried as he recounted the reception at which he was honored as he received the highest promotion of his career. The reception featured watermelon. None of the white executives noticed, but the moment deprived this black executive, attaining the pinnacle of a lifetime, of the joy of his accomplishments. Years later, the hurt was still deep enough that he could not conceal his emotions," he concluded.

WTF

Who the fuck doesn't like watermelon? Bunch of pussies.

Seriously?  That has to be made up.

No, I believe this is 100% true, and it's sad.  No one deprived this man of his recognition, he deprived himself of it.

"Stick and stones may break my bones but names can never hurt me."  Wisest thing my parents taught me growing up.  This sad man and the years of being conditioned, by the race hustlers and the left, to see racism in every thing has deprived him of the ability to enjoy anything.  Seriously, you are being honored and recognized for an accomplishment, but the fact that a specific (popular) fruit is served at the reception destroys all that...I seriously feel sad for people like this.

1st Amendment rights... it does not regulate classy speech, diplomacy, or what's agreeable or not.  The reason why is because "who gets to decide what's classy or not, what's diplomatic or not, or what's agreeable or not".

It's the only way that free speech will work.

That's fucking stupid.

The area in question corresponds to Dothan, where their primary crop is peanuts.

Remember this piece of shit?...

Virginia shooting gunman Bryce Williams thought WATERMELON in newsroom was racist

He worked with them from 2012, before losing his job in 2013 following a series of incidents.

Williams sued the company following his dismissal, but his claims were thrown out.

A part of his argument claimed that a watermelon in the newsroom was being used to target him.

He claimed: "The watermelon would appear, then disappear, then appear and disappear, then appear and disappear again only to appear again.

"This was not an innocent incident. The watermelon was placed in a strategic location."

Ryan Fuqua, a video editor at WDBJ, told the New York Post: "That's how that guy's mind worked. Just crazy, left-field assumptions like that.

"He was unstable.

"One time, after one of our live shots failed, he threw all his stuff down and ran into the woods for like 20 minutes."

Bryce Williams Was a Product of Society’s Obsession With Political Correctness
Gunman was offended by everything

When a manager brought in a watermelon to share with employees, Williams also took it as a racist insult.

“Of course, he thought that was racist. He was like, ‘You’re doing that because of me.’ No, the general manager brought in watermelon for the entire news team. He’s like, ‘Nope, this is out for me. You guys are calling me out because I’m black.’?”

According to Williams, 7-Eleven was also part of the racist conspiracy because it sold watermelon-flavored Slurpees.

“It’s not a coincidence, they’re racist,” Williams allegedly told Fair.

But..but... but I've actually witnessed black people eating watermelon! Maybe not every one of them but I've
witnessed the event. Hell, I was standing right next to them eating watermelon myself. Good stuff
if you ask me.

I was in Costco one day.  Not a lot of blacks in the store ever.  Mostly hispanic.  Two black guys came up to the counter with ribs and watermelon.  Nothing else, both bought the same items, two different transactions.

Stereotypes just save time.

More than once I have been told, "never get between a black man and his fried chicken".  I have never heard this from a white guy.

I think these guys may have been racist, because I like those very same foods.
