You got three choices for the most part.

Walther P5

Sig Sauer P6

HK P7

Or do you say fuck it and go rogue and carry something else since you're cool as fuck and carry a Hi-Power, CZ-75, Beretta 92, S&W 39, etc...?

I'd go with the Walther P5. It doesnt have a shit trigger like the HK and Sig.

I bought my son a P6 from AIM when he was 12. he has shot that thing like a lazer beam since the day he opened the box. he absolutely loves that gun.

I was in Germany in 1980. Everyone was worried about the security of the arms rooms so terrorist and the Bader Meinfof gang couldn't get any weapons. I pointed out one time that all they had to do was wait for us to go on an FTX. Since we were not allowed to carry any small arms ammo, the Red Brigade could have used a .22 and held up the entire 3rd Infantry Division and stolen any weapon they wanted.

I go with the SIG. In the 80's the West German police (and military I think) carried the SIG. These guns were made by Germans during a time when they thought they were about to be steamrolled over by Soviet tanks at any moment. They had to make them as if their lives depended on it. Literally.

Plus when the P226 has a can on it you know somebody is going to have a bad day.

You'll use whatever you're issued. If you were working with the Federal agencies it most likely would have been the P7. The majority of the State police departments issued the P6, a few using the P7 and even fewer the P5. Almost no European police agencies allow their officers any discretion on what they carry.

P6 was my first 9mm handgun. It was like a laser in my hand. I immediately lost interest in my 1911 and began lusting after a 226. I sold the P6 and 1911 to fund the W.German 226 I bought.
