Prices are down to @$180-$210 shipped on e-bay. Tons of them available. I would say in about a month they should be down to MSRP or close to it.

This.

Official sales started in the US in 1961...  Poster must be damn near 100 if his kids were raised by 1961.

So I was walking past the Lego store in Leicester Square here in London this evening when lo and behold, there it is! Damn, that thing is big in person.

If you look closely, you can see they have a few in stock, as well....

Sadly, the store was closed for the evening. Thankfully, the one I ordered from Walmart is already waiting for me back home in the States!

My wife and I are in our early 30's and we've got quite a collection of mostly Star Wars Lego. Hell my wife and have each finished a kit within the last 24 hours.

I saw the Tested video earlier this week about the Saturn V and knew I had to have it. Too bad I'm late on the draw. The sad thing is I have the money, too...

At the risk of appearing to pee in your Post Toasties;
aren't Legos childrens' toys?
They were invented way after my children were raised, so I have no reference to the enthusiasm shown in this thread.
What am I missing?

Lowest starting bids on e-bay for the Saturn V are $150. See some closing at the $180 mark. Prices keep dropping almost daily. Looks like the flippers better start dumping their inventory before it gets down to MSRP.

Dang it, I hope they release more of these.

I took my kids down to Houston over their spring break to visit NASA and the USS Texas.

They love legos and would flip out over this.

Saw on another forum where some guys were putting their Dragon 1/72 scale Saturn V's in those Ikea Detolf display cases. Looks pretty nice.

If you guys get the Detolf glass case to display your Lego Saturn V search this on E-bay------>LUT Background Print & MLP Kit for Dragon 1:72 Scale Apollo Saturn V Model

This forum software doesn't let me link to E-bay for some reason.

I've got a Detolf case but I keep handguns in it.

Just got my shipping notice for my Saturn V, so they're definitely working on the order backlog.

There's a Lego store here at Disney World and I was in it today twice.  Completely forgot to look for this thing.  Tempted to go back and see if they have any in stock

I'm a huge Lego fan.  I've loved them my whole life, but man they've gotten expensive.  Like I'd love to have one of those enormous Millenium Falcons or Star Destroyers, but $500+ for some plastic is a kick in the balls.  And to think those kits are going for thousands now.  Bonkers.

They had the Tie Fighter and the Death Star at the Lego store when I was in there today.  They also had the Technic GT3 RS.  All so freakin expensive.

This kit, on the other hand, actually seems reasonably priced for what you get.  Tempted...

Not Lego... but I really want this $1680 - $1800 depending on method of delivery chosen... 1:1 Model of the model used for filming in Empire Strikes Back of the Millennium Falcon.

Jeez. That was fast. Looks like this set is seriously popular.

Not surprising, I suppose, given the subject and the very reasonable $/brick ratio.

First off, that's cool.
Secondly, LEGO prices are pretty crazy considering you are buying mass manufactured pieces of plastic at a huge mark up.

after watching Adam Savage on Tested building one I got nostalgic and looked into some lego kits
the Saturn V kit actually isnt all that bad price wise

some of those lego kits were just stupid $300 $400 dollars for a car???
$200 ships
$150 buildings

Legos were never cheap toys but damn it looks like you cant even start for under $50 for anything decent
I believe I have a bucket stashed away from a long long time ago

ETA: looks like ebay has the black pearl ship from pirates of the caribbean knockoff from china for $50  I kinda want it lol
ebay has a couple legit ones for only $750 and up

If any of you follow Amy on Vintage Space, she's been livestreaming her build; part 2 was last night, part 3 will be next Monday.

She was really struggling with the first stage last night.
