I laughed my ass off seeing in the theater way back when. And still watch it every year. It was unique when it came out. Others have tried to create Christmas comedy movies but nothing has come close. And Christmas Story is just as good, not quite a comedy but more of a first person experience even though it’s fiction, not sure of the genre. Those two are #1 and #1a for entertainment value.

It's easily my favorite holiday movie and it's a top 5 comedy IMO.

Also Eddie's fake turtleneck. Uncle Louis in the home movie Clark watches. Clark's mom dipping her turkey in her water glass.

I watch it daily from Thanksgiving to New Years. My the end of the holiday season my wife wants to kill me.
It was my dads favorite movie and now one of mine next to A Christmas Story.

If you've ever been to Vegas, particularly around the turn of the century, it's absolutely hilarious because it nailed so many truths about the town at the time in which it was made.

I agree that it's out of step with the other movies but I still love it.
