First gun I bought was a 26. Currently the only cf pistol I own. They are sweet but they are a hard gun to shoot well.

I really wanted to love the P365 but both of mine broke deader than a door nail. One at about 400 rounds and the other at 1200 rounds. I will not carry that gun. I think Sig likes to use their customers as Beta testers. My 365XL has 2500 rounds and runs fine, but it won't replace my glocks.

I have a 27 with the pinky extension and tlr6.  For me the 26 or 27 is the perfect backup gun to a mid or full-size Glock. Then you can share mags and ammo if one fails or pass one off to family.
Having said that there are now way better options. P365 is lcp size with 10 rounds of 9 in a flush mag. Or 15 with the extension.

Not a fan of Glocks. I keep trying, I really want to like them, but I just can't manage to shoot them well. Garbage triggers and piss poor ergonomics I guess.

I really like the 26.  It was my first gun purchase.  I'll never let it go.  Having said that, I will get a 19 in a few months (or years) when I can find and afford one :-)

Love the versatility.

10 round mag, no problem.

Need a little more fire power and grip, 12 rounder.

Want the capacity of the G19, grab a G19 mag and a mag sleeve.

Heck throw a 30 round mag in the truck just in case it gets rowdy out there.

Should be in the hall of fame of carry pistols.

It can be even more versatile if it's a G27 with a 40-9 conversion barrel. Run it in all the 9mm modes and you still can find .40 ammo during these panics.

To me the 26 'peaked' at Gen 3 with the frying pan finish.  Now there are many more and in some cases better options for carry guns.  Back then I had the 34, the 19 and the 26 and the mag compatibility was the shit - it made a lot of sense to use the same mags for everything.  I'll never fault a person who takes advantage of the mag compatibility that is possible here, I just prefer a thinner carry gun nowadays.  Loving the 43x so far.

When I got my G43, the G26 became a safe queen.

I recently sold the G26 and bought a spare G43.

The G26 is fine and all, but not my cup of tea for a CC handgun.

The Glock 26 G5 is almost identical in size to my M&P 9c. If the trigger guard was the same shape I could use the same holster. BTW, they both fit the same Uncle Mikes holster just not the Blackhawk or Bianchi. I like the Glock but I tend to like the S&W more because...it's looks better and besides that if S&W is good enough for Dirty Harry then it's good enough for me.

G26 appendix -Church or "nice clothes carry"
G36 small of back clip draw- Summer work,  around town errands
G19x RMR, surefire300 strong side OWB- Winter work, around town errands.
FNX45 tactical, RMR surefire 300 battle belt- Stopping looters or going to war.

I love the 26. I know its not all the fad but for me its a perfect small carry gun.

I feel no need to look further than my G19.

It hides well and just fits and I can easily hit what I'm aiming at. Hell, I can even deal with the stock trigger. Take up sucks but reset is just right so after the first shot, follow ups are fast and accurate.

For me that is "perfection".

The 9c also has a rail.  I’m not a fan of the full-sized M&Ps but I do like the compacts.

That said, my G26 still gets carried every once in a while.

Don Hume makes the best pocket holster of the ones I've tried, which have been several. Their holsters have an excellent "hook" built-in so that they won't leave the pocket upon drawing the handgun.

The worst I've used is from Mitch Rosen.

Glock doesn't change and people complain they aren't keeping up with consumer demand. Glock changes in response to market forces and people make snarky jokes about five generations of perfection. What's next - angry posts that Aimpoint's "always ready, always on" slogan is BS because at some point you'll need to change the batteries?

My carry switches between a 19x or a G45 depending on the day. I could just carry a 17 and there'd be no difference, or a 19 but I'm special that way.

Winter carry is a P226.

I'm not fat at all, you can conceal pretty much anything at the 4-5 o'clock position provided you aren't wearing a tight or fitted shirt. That's just the summer, once winter rolls around (your mileage may vary) you could carry a Mk23 and no one would know.

I tried the 26, but for my hands it's too small with the flush fit mag to blindly find, and if you carry the longer mags, you may as well go with the corresponding larger glock models.

That's just me though, if a 26 works for you, more power to you.
