Why do millennials refer to horror movies as "scary" movies. My wife fist noticed this around 10 years ago from her students and I've seen it ever since. Is it because of those comedy movies "Scary Movie"?

If you're like the majority of the country and read the Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark volumes, you will really enjoy the movie they made last year
The new IT was good, still need to watch Chapter 2 The series The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix is supposed to be fucking terrifying The original The Thing is a whole different kind of terrifying I recall Drag Me to Hell being pretty fucked up and scary |

The floor was deserted, as most of the students had gone home for the holidays, including their roommate and the occupants of the other room. Midway through watching this movie with all the lights off, I hear a sound from the bathroom (the door was closed) and ask, "Didn't you say the people in the other room went home for the holidays? I swear I just heard a noise from the bathroom". Got a "Stop messing with me!" response. Maybe 10-15 minutes later, we both hear a sound from the bathroom. Then we hear the knob being turned very slowly, and the door sloooowly opens. The bathroom is pitch black. WTF!? Then a head pops out, "Hey! Whatchall doin?". We're going, "WTF was with the whole slooooowly opening the bathroom door with the lights off?". "Oh, I ended up coming back early. Thought I heard y'all next door. Wanted to see what y'all were doin but was tryin not to interrupt anything". LOL. Certainly added a little extra moment of heightened creepiness while watching the movie. |
