Sad to hear of her passing, I understand she was not well in the final years of her life.

Godspeed, Lt. Uhura.
May your presence ever grace the heavens and your star shine bright until the end of time and beyond. |

Quoted: There was an episode (Star Trek) where she met Lincoln and the dialog was interesting for the time it was made. Intelligent and beautiful. She lead a long and full life. View Quote He referred to her as a "nigress", as I recall. Ha! My Mac doesn't think that's a word! LOL RIP, Nichelle. You had a great life and inspired a lot of people - and not just from your work on ST TOS. |

Quoted: No. Alzheimer’s, family was not very involved and a agent was taking all of her money. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Sad to hear of her passing, I understand she was not well in the final years of her life. No. Alzheimer’s, family was not very involved and a agent was taking all of her money. The "care taker" was taking advantage of her (depending on who you believe in the recent documentary) and the son took over in her last days. He was also a piece of crap over the years, but at least he was her son. I think she was classy and a great ambassador for the ST franchise throughout the years - so accommodating and nice to trekkies at conventions. |

Damn. Rest in peace.
As a side note, she would make my pants tight when I was a kid. |

Quoted: She was great at that role. I have to remember it was first aired in the ‘60’s It was still impactful over the years RIP View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: When she came onscreen in that red miniskirt, any shred of racism died in every teenage male in America! She was one of my first crushes & I’ve always been attracted to intelligent, capable, attractive, feminine women. Rest in Peace, Nichelle. |

Black women on TV back then portrayed maids or wash women. A professional black woman with intelligence and poise was unheard of. |

Gene wanted a post-war society where earth was united as a whole in a much larger universe. While the behind the scenes idealism was portrayed as having characters from everywhere to bring everyone together onscreen, it made sense in universe. |

RIP. By all accounts a classy lady who did more for civil rights than a thousand modern "activists."

She was classy and sexy at the same time. She was a presence onscreen. Just as Nemoy was Spock. She was Uhura.
Rest in peace, dear lady. |

Time marches on and we cannot stop it. Shitty day, I'm a die hard Cs fan and Russell passing makes me really sad. Uhura (Nichelle) is a massive loss as well.

Damn. I've been a ST junkie since the 80's when my dad would religiously watch the reruns. She was part of something great.

Woke is the current corruption of "anti-racism" by the COMMUNISTS to disguise their true intent. Shatner kissing Nichols was not a communist plot. Woke is. |

She lived longed and prospered, can't ask for much more than that.

Very sad to hear. Also David Warner passed away last week. He played Gorkon in Star Trek VI and the Cardassian interrogator in Star Trek:TNG (there are 4 lights!).
