Meet the most commanding defensive pistol ever imagined. The FN 510 Tactical carries 22+1 rounds of 10mm at the ready and can stop a bear in its tracks. But holding all the power and capacity doesn’t matter if you can’t put all those rounds on target, so it’s made for pinpoint control – red-dot-ready, with a crisp trigger and unrivaled ergonomics.

+1

I'm a fan of the 509 so a 545 is an easy sell to me.

I was actually hoping for an FNX tactical in 9mm and 10mm, not a 509 in 10mm and .45.

I loved my FNP-45. Have always wanted to pickup an FNX-45 but just have been going more towards 9mm in later years. I struggle with FN strikers. They're not bad I just find them whelming compared to lots of other stuff, especially compared to the FNP/FNX platform which I find bonerrific.

Right?

I mean don't get me wrong, I think they're great, but does it really hold 22+1 rounds?

Why not make it hold 30+1 if you're just going to run a ridiculous length mag?

Top is an FNX, bottom is an FNP. The FNP was my first handgun.

Maybe; the FNX and the Five seveN are the only pistols they seem to have been able to keep in production since they killed the real Hi-Power.

The 509T and 509ct are by far, the best striker fired pistols I've owned. Looks like I might need to add a 545T to the stable.

The FNP was a POS and replaced by the FNX.
The FNX had its own issues.

Modern FN has a history of short runs and model changes on their handgun designs.

Unless they also release a 10mm based on the FNX, like people have been asking for for years, their marketing/research team should be fired.

Yup...

Barracuda dead
HP-DA dead
BDM dead
Forty-Nine dead
Five-seveN life support
FNP dead
FNX dying
FNS dying
509/510/545
High-Power
HiPer

FN Herstal has a new striker fired design already out in Europe, the HiPer.

I've got the FNX45 tactical and a FNX9 with a threaded barrel.  I got the 509 tactical hoping for the best.  Its not that impressive.   Even did the apex trigger.  Still nothing to write home about.

I'm not overly excited about these new striker guns.  The FNX is more better.

I like it. I've been looking at getting into the 10mm game and have had nothing but good stuff with my FNX-45 Tac. I like the balance of the longer grip in relation to the slide, which should add some additional control. This in a drop-leg is a good amount of firepower. I'd imaging some hardcast would be a significant bear deterrent. I assume it'll be around $1500.

The striker market is saturated, and the demand for hammer fired guns, particularly SAO, is exploding.

The problem with the FNX-45T isn't that it's a hammer fired gun. The problem is that it's a ~$800 gun that costs $1,400.

Unless these 510s and 545s have amazing triggers or something, they're going to flop hard competing against Glocks, Sigs, and M&Ps while costing several hundred dollars more.

If anything, I'd say the FNX-45T is a more viable product on the market than the striker fired 545 because it actually has traits to differentiate it from the market.

The Sig Legion SAO's pretty much reignited the fire in my loins for handguns again.

I picked up a NIB/NOS Sig X-Five Tactical, one of the last of the German made ones. I'm going to break-in and convert to my bedstand gun. Once my OSS 9mm can gets out of jail for my MP5 that and the X-five will be my home office rig and my P220 Legion SAO .45acp will be my bedstand gun.

The 510 is on gunbroker for $1140. Standard mags hold 15 like most others do. I’ll stick with Glock and maybe pick up a used one in 5 years.

I might have to pickup the 10 to go with my Glock 40. Having two high capacity striker fired 10mms would be good stuff.

One ignition type isn't inherently more reliable than the other.

Striker also isn't an action type; striker guns can be DAO, SAO, DA/SA, and Glock type pretensioned single action. Just like how hammer guns come in DAO, DA/SA, SAO, and the one-offs like DAK and LEM.
