I have 2 I like.

Keltec P17.  Sometimes it blows back a little bit.

Sig Sauer/ GSG 1911-22. Works great and looks cool. It is fairly cheaply made. Very accurate and I enjoy shooting it a lot. Full size 1911 frame..

I have the Buckmark Hunter but any one of theirs will work well for suppression. The slide operation is pretty slick as well. I use cherry balm(tm) .22 grease on mine. I am running a SilencerCo Switchback.

Same.

I took a chance as I have a 365XL.
The 322 is actually a tad larger, but grip and familiarity is close enough to hardly notice.
No issues and runs with my Sparrow can perfectly.
Cut for Red Dot.

My Kel Tec P17 wore my can before.  After a time...I got tired of fighting the rear sight moving.  No ability to put a Red Dot on it either.  Main reason I switched to 322.

My MkIV 22/45 has been a fantastic pistol. Eats absolutely everything. Old ammo sitting around for years, CCI, random bulk packs, etc.  I went with the "tactical" model because it comes with the hbar.

It's everyone's favorite thing to shoot at family get together.

The only downside is the 10 rd mag, but it doesn't bother me.

This is the right answer.  I bought NOS one last year for $500.  If you can’t find one the Taurus tx22 competition gets my second place.

Another vote for the CP33 -  as far as reliability goes, OAL of your round is the most important factor. Remington Thunderbolts are damn near 100% in my CP33, so that's pretty much all I stock now.

There's a great writeup here: thektog CP33 reliability thread

The customization options get ridiculous too, this is how mine is currently:

How reliable is yours? A budy has one and it can't make it more than a mag or two without a stoppage of some kind and he's tried all sorts of ammo in it.

I've been a Ruger Standard guy and think they're fine pistols that would serve you well...

...but my next rimfire host pistol is going to have a capacity greater than 10 rounds.

I think the leaders in that department are the TX22 and the P322.

I really hope Ruger is working on a high-capacity 22/45 grip frame. They could call it the MkIV 22/11. The upper on the Ruger Standards is the serialized part, so Ruger could sell the wide-body frame direct to customers.

I really need to get into 3D printing and design one myself.

I have a couple of sparrows and a M&P 22 and a Ruger Mk IV 22/45. I like them both. The Ruger is heavier and balances well with the sparrow. It also has the better trigger with the VQ trigger. There is a 17 magazine kit for the S&W. Don't have one yet but it's on my list to get.

Any suggestions?

And leave the Sparrow on the rifle and get a different can for the pistol. The Sparrow sucks on pistols but is marvelous on rifles.

I remember shooting a youth pistol camp at Camp Perry about that time.

The issued pistols from the camp were Crosman Skanakers for airgun, and Smith and Wesson 422's for rimfire.

I used the Crosman for air gun, but had Dad's PreA series 41 he got in the late 60's.   My coach had a 41 bull barrel with the extendable front sight.

But yeah, the 422 was a dog compared to the 41.

Now I wish I had a 422 for a can host though.

I don't think CCI Quite will cycle in any semi autos, it definitely doesn't run reliably in either my Mk3 or Mk4. I save the Quites for bolt actions. Standard Velocity is my go to for all semi autos.

CCI Suppressor 22LR runs at 970fps vs Standard Velocity at 1070fps. It will cycle realibly but I don't notice enough difference in noise suppression to bother with it (harder to find and rarely on sale like SV).

I run standards too.  I have a bunch of segmented HP Quiets, but I have not found anything that will cycle them either.  I also agree on the Subsonics/Suppressor.  I can't tell a difference between them and the standards so I want the velocity.

Pistols that don’t require HV ammo will often function well with the CCI Quiet Semi Auto. The only time I can tell the difference in the Quiet and Quiet Semi Auto is in my bolt action when suppressed.

I can get the 1050fps CCI Subsonic segmented HP to feed in semi autos that don’t require HV ammo. Have you tried that loading?

I forgot about CCI Quite Semi Auto. Runs at 835fps vs regular Quite runs at 710fps. The Quite Semi Auto does cycle reliably for me. IIRC they came out with that right around the time I had just stocked up on SV and I got a few boxes to try it out.
