Yep, local place started getting the Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier last week and I've been stocking up. It's my favorite mass market beer.

Bought a 4-pack of this last week...
 Not really faithful to the Marzen recipe, but a decent enough beer. Having this tonight...  Not my favorite, but it holds a special place in my heart since we were at their pub last year in Munich...  Also have some Ayinger sitting around (which is my favorite marzen), but haven't been able to find any Paulaner. |

Ayinger marzen is great but at $4 a pint, it should be.
I see a lot of paulaner fans which is pretty good, hacker pschorr marzen imo kicks its ass. |

Tucher was the mostly local beer in Erlangen.
Went on a brewery tour of Maisel. Franziskaner is the only thing decent locally. |

I drink German beer year round. Paulaner Salvator is my drink of choice. If I want something lighter I get some Oktoberfest Marzen.

Great Lakes Oktoberfest is on the shelves, I grabbed a 6-pack of cans the other day, hoping to find 12-packs soon.
Ohio is pretty fucked in the food category but you mofos make up for it in beer.

It is a tourist trap full of trinket shops, candy stores, and beer halls. They have an Oktoberfest too in the festival hall, fun thing to do once. I enjoy the food and the beer but the crowds in the fall when the leaf peepers roll in keep me away. |

Went to Octoberfest last year. Great time. I suggest going during the middle of the day and then going back a night. Completely different atmosphere at night.

Dad used to take me every year on post at Ft Bliss, the Luftwaffe troops there for ADA training put on a great Oktoberfest.
During the Cold War, so many GIs rotated through Germany that most bases seemed to have an Oktoberfest. |
