STEM majors, overall, are waaaaay more intelligent than law majors, as measured by standard intelligence tests. STEM majors build bridges, rockets, sky scrapers, nuclear reactors, and life-saving drugs and medical procedures. Law majors manipulate words to gain an advantage for their clients. They don't create much that is useful. But hey, there's a need for that too. I guess. There's an old saying: "There's not much demand for one lawyer. But there's always a demand for two." Law is where average college students go to make a decent living, and some get quite wealthy. There's no denying that. Actors and athletes can get rich too, but nobody accuses them of being particularly intelligent, as a group. (There are exceptions.) In the pantheon of college students, law students are typically in the middling center. No shame in that. |
