I had my phone screen fixed last week. The guy asked for my pin number so they could do a function check on it.

I was like, no the phone works fine, just need the screen replaced, thanks.

The lady before me freely handed out her pin number

My BIL had a rough time at Soldier Field because of the ticket app. Went to a Metallica show, I guess the place is a dead zone. No one could open the app to have the tickets scanned, so they didn't let folks inside. Had to walk around until he got a signal so he could open it. Ended up missing Pantera over the whole deal, which he really wanted to see. He said he thought folks were gonna riot.

99% of the time state charges apply and it is simply easier and more cost effective to handle at the state charge level.

For the really bad apples there's federal charges which are very, very bad. Sounds like this guy 100% earned it.

I don't even carry proof of insurance. In Texas they allegedly can verify it off your plate and I've had the same insurance company for years and been stopped multiple times.

No issues or tickets yet

You have to show proof of insurance to register your vehicle.  Unless you're in Memphis.. then you make a fake temporary tag and don't get insurance because it's rayciss and it's rayciss for the police to pull you over for it.

The residents of north county are too smart to fall for that. They just don't register their cars. It's really weird how many have 2yr old temp tags or nothing at all.

Reg/Ins in TX was all verifiable from the plate for sure.  At least ~10 years ago I had a cop not want to wait for me to unload a bike to get under the seat, and just asked me to verify my address, and told me to slow down.  Pretty sure you are supposed to carry "proof" which isn't defined as paper.  Guessing you could memorize the policy number?  I like paper.

Seems like just taking the ticket is better than handing unlocked phone to anyone.

That's where I have a problem w/ any document on my phone or tablet I'm going to hand to someone.    I'd much prefer to have a lock screen app or option that will only show that document, and will only show it when authorized.   Now I realize w/ physical access things can be hacked, but it takes time.

Doesn't work for ticketmaster and it actually says that when you view your ticket before hand. Ticketmaster actually sends you an email telling you to download the ticket before you get to an event bc of this exact situation.

Sounds like you guys have some issues. You need to make her comfortable in her own body.

Our room is a clothes free zone. And everyday is a no bra day, if she has her way (based on attire and where she is going).

All the tickets I’ve had on my phone in the past state they won’t work with a screenshot. You need to show the ticket in the app.

There is a reason states are pushing digital ID.

You then have to unlock your phone and hand it to the man, voluntarily surrendering your right to privacy.

They can look through all of it.

My wife got stopped in my pickup one day and the cop yelled at her for not having had insurance since 2011 (this was 2017). We'd moved out of state in 2011 and the state's database didn't have any of our current info. Truck had been insured the whole time, of course.

She found her POI and he wrote her a ticket for holding her phone. I told her next time hold it lower.

I don't remember having to show proof of insurance, but it has been nearly a decade since I have registered a vehicle - as opposed to just renewing tags.

There are 708,000 full time police officers in the United States, plus a shit load of reserves and part time.  If only 1% are bad apples that is more than 7,000 bad cops.

It is not surprising that we hear about bad cops regularly, especially when Internet algorithms choose the news you receive.

One of the communist's goals was to destroy the American people's faith in their institutions.  Do you ever wonder why certain posters and internet algorithms feed you a barrage of this stuff?

Welcome to the unintended consequences of overreaching laws. Before it was illegal people could hold their phones *within their field of vision* and safely drive and use the phone, as needed, with discretion of course.

Now, you have to hold it down out of the line of sight. Dumb laws make us less safe.
