Heres some more I took last summer/fall. 56k go eat a dick.

All of East St. Louis is like this. It has engulfed the smaller surrounding towns such as Venice, Brooklyn, Washington Park, the south end of Granite City and still growing.

I know older people that used to live on the east side of Chicago, and used to live in neighborhoods on the south side that let's just say they wouldn't live in today.

As for Cleveland, I happened to be going on Pearl towards Brookpark Road when I visited in 2003. Yuck.

I don't go over there unless I'm packing heat, anything east of East 55th is just lovely.

I should get a pictures of the abandoned houses that have big banners hung across the roof that say "no copper", meaning the houses have already been looted.

I have spent at least 50% of my work career working on the east side of the city. It has, by far, THE MOST foreclosed & boarded up homes.

I'm never really too worried, I have pretty good situational awareness. Black people don't bother me, poor people don't phase me either. Dirty, filthy people repulse me. People who don't do their dishes...for a week. People who have trash all over their houses. I went to one house, it had food in pots and pans, on the stove, & I swear to God, it had been there 10-14 days. It was fucking growing all sorts of fuzzy fungus.

Like my DI used to say, 2% of any group are shit birds. No matter what, there is ALWAYS that 2% factor. Race is inconsequential. So I try to stay aware, and keep an eye out for the desperate people. Especially the ones who want to try to "axe" me a question, or otherwise approach me.

I drove off as they jumped out of the way. Pretty scary for a 19 year old.

Cities should adopt codes like San Antonio, Texas. If a house or commercial buildings pose a danger to the community at large, the city sends out a crew and the skins the lot. There are whole hoods where most of the houses have been removed; it cleans up the neighborhood quite well. This does not mean there are not some real sporty neighborhoods in San Antonio, but at least the city does something to try and clean them up.

BTW: I don't live in San Antonio.

WINNER! South of me by a couple mines is a fine area lovenly known as "shack town". During WWII it was goverment housing. Now it is a low income neihgborhood owned by 2 slum lords and controlled by whatever whitetrash gang is popular on the given day you drive into it. Population is primarily white alcoholic loosers and drug addicts.
It does not take any particuliar skin color to be a piece of shit. Inner cities catch more media time becouse of the usaully high crime rates and readily identifieable land marks.
Here's an example: If I say detroit you prably think right away of the reinesance center that is GM headquarters. Why? Becouse it has been in the news.
All larger cities have areas like this. Not becouse of color but becouse of no self respect. I would love to have seen the detroit my Mom talks about growing up in. She weeps if we drive through it now. And I HATE seeing my Mom cry.

The highschool that Terry Bradshaw went to is about 5min from where I grew up.

Used to be such a nice neighborhood. Now, its a shithole.
