733 / HEAT clone underway.

C7 upper, 11.5 barrel, and skinny handguards ordered.

Where is the best place to get a cheap CAR stock? Just want one for pic purposes - will use a B5 bravo for range time.

Does anyone know where to get an A1 or A2 grip with storage compartment ? I like being able to keep a folded up form1 in there.

Excellent 723 clone.

That's the beauty of the 7XX series, think of a configuration and it was made.

723's had M4 and 653 barrels depending on production run.

Yep, it's 14.5".  It's also an exact copy of the first carbine I was issued, flat ring and all.  Caveat: I can't find the correct ambi selector that my gun had.

Love the heat guns. Used to clean up at a shop that had purchased one of them used in the movie years ago. Think it was around 99 or 2000.

Pics like this one make me want to drop the A1 stock I put on my last C7 build.

It was just for trial, anyhow.

Ordered me a C7/A1 upper this morning from Windham. $150 shipped for a complete (FA, dust cover, and rear sight) upper.

I want to do a retro looking rifle with modern little bits hybrid (sacrilege!). 11.5" barrel with Dead Air FH for can. A1 grip, KAC ambi safety, KAC trigger guard, BAD pin set, Gasbuster charging handle, and a Geissele SSA. Stock will be CAR and skinny CAR handguards. I just have to use some of these small items for comfort and aesthetics.

now you guys are making me want to put a 20" barreled fixed stock gun together

tweeter ---  , enough said

RA --- not a thing wrong with updating a kiss/clone rifle.  it almost seems a shame to cut a nice colt barrel but i had adco chop my 6720 barrel down to 13" and it's tits

now it's time to go and figure out if i want a 20" kiss upper with field sights or target sights

You got me thinking and I decided to leave the 6720 upper alone. I may sell it or hold onto it for a rainy day project as I'm sure I can use a LW 16" for something The cost and time of dis-assembly, shipping, barrel cutting etc would probably be just as expensive as buying a barrel assembly. I've picked up a Ballistic Advantage 11.5 with pinned FSB and delta ring assembly for about $200. So for an WW A1 upper and BA barrel 11.5 barrel with FSB you are looking at $350 total. Not bad for those seeking the HEAT.

Sorry for talk and no pics. Hope to have something up in the next week or so!

KISS sling deal!
Go to the Wal-Mart camping gear section and purchase the 6ft lashing strap and 1in buckle and slider two pack for a total of $3.00. Some para cord looped around the front sight, the strap, and three sliders and BOOM! cheap sling.

Anyone sitting near my 76 year old mom on an airplane is welcome to use her carbon fiber knitting needles against a potential hijacker. They'll pierce a skull, just not in her hands. She'll knit you a helluva hat, scarf, or stuffed doll, though, as she's a knitting machine.

He's got a light of unknown make/model on the left side of the FSB

Looks like a FSB clamp on style mount, my guess on the light would be a Streamlight TLR-1 or similar.

Wonder why he doesn't have a BUIS.  There's plenty of room for a KAC or Matech(I'd want a BUIS because you never know)
