If you order 30mm rings from Midwest they only give you one and it's bagged individually. Just a heads up.

Same for the 1" rings from MGW. Nice if you just need one for a light mount.

I should've been more pacific. I meant Midwest as in Midwest Gun Works MGW not to be confused with Maryland Gun Works MGW famous for the carry handle mount

That's exact same a2 that came with mine. Has a 5 inside of a pill shaped relief like the 4F ones I had. I'm swapping mine for a different profile a2 without the "pinched in" nubs

Yes, I understood what you meant, and was just expanding on your message to include the 1" vertical split rings that are correct for period light mounts.

Thanks! I picked up my AEM5 the other day but I'm on vacation so it's sitting in my suitcase all shiny and clean.

I actually used a cheap Amazon mount as a placeholder til I got a better one, but it's been working perfectly for me with some blue loctite on the screws. I believe the brand was Monstrum or something.

Has anyone found a weaver rail section that matches the contour of the handguards? I'm looking at a #35 and a #54 and they both look pretty close.

I used one half of a 2 piece weaver 10/22 base with good results. Matches up to the handguards very nicely

I must have bought like 5 different weaver sections based on "looks pretty close" trying to get one that would match the contour on an Armalite toob.  Not a single one of them was even close

So according to Weaver that would be part#48474 which uses a #35 and a #36 base. I rolled the dice and ordered a #35 base last night to try so I'll let y'all know the results when it comes in.

Someone else asked that just up the page a bit, but here's a link to what I got. It's chinesium but it's been completely solid. I like the look of those Leopold rings that people have been posting the past couple pages, but they seem kind of thin for an Aimpoint M2.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MQ7BCG9?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

And here's the light mount. It's a GG&G with a Surefire Scout 1000lm light. I love the look of the 660 but I want this to be a bit more "usable."

Just noticed this part

GG&G Weaver sling mount (for AIM-1D Laser)

Do you have an AIM-1D to use with it? Is there some photo evidence of an IR laser/illuminator being used on a mount like that?

This is what the mount looked liked. Similar to a barrel light mount:  I’m not sure how the spacer mounts up to it though

(Not my pics)

Someone made a small run of repro spacers a year or so ago:

With the Smith Enterprise carry handle mounts being out of stock what other options do you guys recommend?  The build I am doing won’t really be clone correct and I was thinking getting the Leupold Mk4 carry handle mount until the Smith mounts come back in stock.

Any issues I need to be concerned about the Leupold?  I will be using it on a A2 upper for an Aimpoint Pro in a Vortex 30mm low ring.

Call these guys up.  They are still available, cheap and were used by Delta during BHD.  They’re like $40-45 shipped vs the $100 smith.

The carry handle mount isn’t listed on the site, you gotta call.

One man's trash is another man's treasure. Well bought a pair of these on fleabay and turns out one was stripped and the other a little warped so with a little massaging, thread chasing, and cleaning I managed to make one good ring. Good thing I've got some USA made 1" Leupold rings inbound just in case
