nah, but im sure my girlfriend would like that, with the 9 high rpm cooling fans that make it sound like a small aircraft, and super bright led's that shine right in her face at night, she bitches at me constantly. i think she may use it for target practice if she ever finds out that i spent about $3000 building it. that will be our little secret.

I finally got the RRA flattop uppers I ordered 3 months ago yesterday, so I was able to finish my two M4 projects.

Here's the pictures as I promised I post.

http://home.comcast.net/~canyonflyer/M4s_2.jpg

http://home.comcast.net/~canyonflyer/M4s_1.jpg

Both started as RRA Stripped lowers,
went with Bushmaster M4 style 16" Patrolman's barrels on both( like them because they are lighter, and still have the profile cut)
The green one has RRA Green 6 pos stock, handguards and Grip,
The Coyote Brown one has the 6 pos stock and Handguards ordered from Ameetec Arms, and a Magpul Coyote Brown grip.

Im keeping the one's with the Green Stocks, the Tan one was built for my brother in law to his specifications...almost want to keep it though, came out looking sharp.

Interesting note:
I ordered a RRA carry Handle for my green one, and a Bushmaster carry handle for the Tan one.
I noticed when I got the RRA handle, it had a white "Rock River Arms" printed in small letters on the left side, just forward of the rear site. The ironic thing is that on the right side it had the same manufacturer's stamp as the one I ordered from Bushmaster did, and in the exact same place.  Looks like both companies use the same vendor, but I ended up paying about 10 dollars more for the RRA Carry Handle.  That's some expensive white paint!

Im building a M4-ge for a buddy of mine with this spare LMT/ Lauer stripped lower receiver I have, and a spare Bushy upper receiver I had laying around also.
Im gonna refinish them both with Norrells to match perfectly. I ordered him some used stuff off of the EE, And im gonna order him a 14.5" 1/7 Bushy
barrel with a permanently attached Phantom later today from Eagle firearms. I will post some more pics when I get it all together.

This is a great thread!

Here's my first 2 builds-first one shown is a M1S Upper on a DPMS lower. And YAAY! The FSB was on STRAIGHT, even!
Carry handles courtesy Sportsmans guide, so not very sharp, but functional.

Second one is mostly DPMS,  except for a GI Charging handle & gas tube; the upper is an ADCO White Oak.

Stainless Steel DPMS lower, Detachable cartry handle, detachable front sight gas block, 20'"

1-9 twist heavy barrel .223. barrelled  & torqued all by my lonesome!

Newest Family Addition. DPMS Lower, DPMS and Colt internals,  RR arms Stock, DPMS UPPER, Bushmaster Fluted 16" heavy barrel, Colt BCA, Duracoat Woodland Tan.

FYI I keep hearing about plastic mag release buttons on DPMS lowers.

Mine looked plastic but when I scraped it ( one purpose) it is definately metal, so some folks may think it is plastic when it is not.

My first post, my first build:

http://www.warhammer.org/~bberkley/shooting/ar.jpg

I had a Bushmaster XM15E2S 20" post-ban HBAR.

I previously had installed the JP fire control system in the lower a few years ago, and decided to make the lower and trigger group the basis for my M4gery.

EGW stripped A3 upper
DPMS 16" M4 profile barrel
YHM Specter gas block
YHM Specter quad-rail forearm
YHM Phantom 5C1 flash suppressor
YHM forearm end cap
Magpul M93B stock
Falcon Ambidextrous ERGO grip
Leupold Mark 4 CQ/T

I ordered some Magpul XT rail covers and rail ladders and a Falcon ERGO foregrip for it from one the vendors here.

My first AR.  My first post!  I lurked here about four months before I finally made up my mind.  Thanks to everyone here for sharing their knowledge.  I also bought several books on the AR, which helped me learn the basics.
It took about 3 hours to put together.
Stag stripped lower
M&A Midlength carbine kit (RRA upper)
M&A MAD BUIS
BSA 30mm Red Dot
??? tall sight rings
Shot about 100 rounds thru it last weekend.  Iron sights initially shot low at 6 o'clock.  All it took was a small sight adjustment and it shoots right-on.  The red dot was a gift from my 80 y.o. father.  He likes red dots, but this is my first.  Most of my other rifles are WW2 vintage, so I've always used iron sights.  I guess I'll get used to it...
