Just finished this heavy barrelled PSL, mostly all home made.  The photos were taken after I assembled it right out of the park tank so the stainless adjustable gas block doesn't have any paint on it yet. I carved the wood from oak.

Here it is next to my standard PSL for comparison:

I just went from 6 to midnight!  Helluva build!

I posted mine a few different places but not in this thread yet, Cugir PSL:

100m "group" while zeroing

Here's my Cugir-made PSL that I traded for a few years back.  At the time I didn't know there was a difference between Romanian made, imported rifles, and the Nodak, US built rifles.  I was pleasantly surprised to find that mine was Romanian made.  I plan on adding a Rhineland Arms stock set to it in the near future.

When I close my eyes and think of home, I dream of doing this to my PSL. What kind of scope you rocking there?

I love my PSL,. It's a 2004 factory import. I got it in March of 05 after my first trip to Iraq, and it was one of the first firearms I bought for myself.

I've made a few changes to it in April 2010. The biggest were modifications to the gas port & the addition of a Bulgarian AK-74 brake (opened up for the .311 projectile)

Shake down & zeroing after doing the mods

And here I am stretching it out with some friends

Kinda obvious I prefer the irons on this rifle,. I may have to dig out the scope and run it with that until I learn to love it.  Sooooooooooo, I saw one suppressed PSL and I'm jealous! Any body here know of a company making cans to mount on the 24mm Bulgy FSB??

There's no such thing as a crappy PSL.  Take a look at gunbroker and they routinely run for $1100 these days.

Nice $1100 artillery you got there.

I just got this one a week or so ago.  Been wanting one of these since maybe 2004.  Figured I'd better jump on it before the next scare came.  Came with a blackjack buffer and what I think is a RSA trigger- def aftermarket.

TGI Built- hoping it shoots as good as it looks!

I've got some goodies coming in for it as week speak!

Refinished it a little darker as the stock color was good but the finish sucked. Ordering a set of tiger maple to do in the traditional color.

Suppressed is the only way to shoot it now!

Barrel chopped to 18" and threaded. Gas block was tapped and set screw drilled out to 1/16" instead of throwing the brass 20' its now only 10'.

Bad pics but the only ones I have of it with the can.

Just shot this one today so it's official:

This is my 2013 winter build. It is a concept gun I built for my own amusement and testing purposes, I'm not selling parts.
PSL internals

Stock is hard anodized aluminum
Uses any AR15 grip
RSB and cantilever mount is stainless steel
Adjustable FSB and gas tube are stainless steel
Bipod is steel, adjusts 4.5" in height and legs fold front and back

Slow motion video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4NQzjuyQ2w

Recently came across some polymer PSL handguards.  The pistol grip and butt stock are leftovers from my .308 Vepr.

well i have had my PSL for almost six months now and i absolutely LOVE it! it is the funnest shooting gun i own and i cant get enough of shooting it.
i only put five rounds in the mag at a time to conserve ammo and let the barrel cool down each time. i have bought three cans of ammo and will keep buying more when i can afford an extra one as i plan on having this rifle for a very long time.
its just so damn cool how accurate this rifle is and also cool getting all the looks when im at the range with it. only bad thing is the gas piston is pitted and i need to replace it, but they are cheap so will get one ordered soon to replace it. and speaking of replacing i want to get a new scope from Kalinka, i like the POSP scope except the adjustment knob is maxed out on elevation plus i think i want one with more power.

anyway, for anyone that is thinking about buying a PSL just go do it, it was the best move i have made and like i said its the funnest gun i have ever shot!

I like the magnification of these 8x's but am not impressed with the clarity.   $200 glass is $200 glass.  I will probably sell mine.
