15723 Confirmed cases 1487 Deaths The confirmed cases are likely many more but testing is in short supply. Today it was revealed that the death tole is also greater as due to lack of tests, people who die from Corona like symptoms before entering hospital are not tested and not counted. The daily number of patients needing ICU no longer seems to be rising so that's hopeful, the deaths are slightly up on yesterday but less that the high point Current issue of concern is that we are running out of the drugs used to keep the patients in a comatose state. The American ambassador (Pete Hoekstra) and Chinese ambassador (Xu Hong) here are having a shouting match in the media. The American ambassador claimed (shock, horror) that the Chinese had not been truthful about the Corona situation. The Chinese were duly offended and are bitching an moaning about diplomatic etiquette. |

In other news, the Socialist government is requesting emergency powers and the ”temporary” suspension of constitutional rights.
This is turning into a real shit show. I’m seriously starting to think about laying concertina wire around the perimeter. |

However, the drastic counter measures are really going to hurt us financially and it feels like the majority of the work force is now either furloughed or sacked. I am lucky enough to be working in an industry that has actually made a fortune during the pandemic (not pharma nor health care) but even that might slow down as our corporate customers are in trouble. |

590 in ICU, 142 women/448 men 477 fatalities, 195 women/282 men Some regions are lagging behind whe it comes to reporting fatalities, especially those who die in nursing homes during the weekend. The vast majority of the deceased are elderly, but a 28 year old died. He had a congenital heart defect though. One of my former co-workers has been really sick. His mother first fell ill with serious pneumonia, and now he's showing all the symptoms of beer flu. However, due to the shortage of testing kits he can't get confirmation about whether or not it's Corona. All signs point to it though. The Social Democrats are still trying to bypass the constitution, but so far their attempts have been thwarted by the opposition. |

As far as I know the the stabilization here is for the most part due to keeping a distance and not packing in to the local disco. NL has a slightly different system as we kind of have a 2 tier emergency law/powers system. National Emergency like we have now or the full blown state of emergency were I can be rounded up and ordered to plant potato's in some field. In the current situation making of new laws stays the same but some things can be (temporally) done by national or local decree. |

19580 Confirmed cases 2101 Deaths Today we had the largest number of deaths but that was in part due to a reporting lag over the previous week. New admissions to the hospitals and ICUs is down again slightly. I finally got a rough male/female ratio for NL -> 1 (female) : 2,2 (male) deaths. Most deaths are elderly but we do have dead in their 20s and teens in comas. @unreformed66 Thanks man, it's a bad situation for the elderly but care homes are locked down for visitors now so that should help. (You can of course take granny home but part of the initial problem is that everybody went to visit granny because schools ect. were closed ect) |

2 487 confirmed cases - 49,5% female, 50,5% male which seems to be a bit different than in other countries?
231 hospitalized 83 in ICU 34 dead. The curve has not flattened yet, but we are not growing exponentially either. |

The only emergency laws we have on the books are limited to war or immediate preparation for war. The government claims that they need these powers to curb the epidemic, but they haven’t explained why they can’t do so through Riksdagen. If they want to have a mandatory curfew they could do it through Riksdagen, but now they don’t have to. It all smells like a power grab. This is the closest thing to a coup we’ve had since Gustav III. |

25587 Confirmed cases 2737 Deaths Today for the first time since the rise the daily death number has dropped under 100 (94). Less ICU patiënts as wel. Easter seems to have been uneventful witch people sticking to the rules and the police only having to tackle the random idiot here and there Tuesday/Wednesday will be interesting as the will very likely be some latency in reporting from the Easter weekend. |

26551 Confirmed cases 2823 Deaths Daily deaths are less again @ 86. Patients in ICUs have dropped as wel. As yesterdays post we could be seeing some latency due to Easter so Tuesday Wednesday will be interesting. A slight rise will stil mean we are on a overal downward trend, big rises are obviously bad news. Some stupid idiots here are now bitching about granny feeling lonely in the care home due to visits not being allowed despite the fucking fact that they can take granny home. Just to be clear nursing home staff are doing monumental work to make sure they don't bring in infections as death rates quickly hit double digits percentage wise. In even more retarded news the Anti 5G crowd have been committing arson attacks on the towers apparently because some feel the Corona outbreak is somehow linked. |

Over here parliament is only discussing essential laws that cant wait, all other stuff has been put on hold. As far as guns go we just heard this week that all licenses will be automatically be renewed (no need to go and wait and spread Bat AIDS at the police station) AND we don't have to prove the minimal 18 range visits/competition you have to do every year. |

28153Confirmed cases 3134 Deaths Large raise in deaths (+184) probably due to the good Friday/Easter lag. Less ICU patients again. Dutch CDC still describe the situation as a slow reduction in spread. Some real troubles in care homes, when is gets in there it gets real bad real quick. Still shortages of protective equipment. Now today will be interesting as I expect to see a sharp drop. |

29214 Confirmed cases 3315 Deaths Still a lot of deaths with todays number at 181. Sad to say care homes are being hit hard and there seems to little possible to stop transmission once inside. It also seems nearly impossible to stop the spread to staff once an infection gets started there. ICU patient numbers are still dropping everyday and the current prediction as far as I understand it is that we wil be at normal max ICU capacity (capacity has been greatly expanded) around mid May. Current random blood testing puts the % of people that have not been sick but show antibodies in 3% of the population. |
