Have not had a smoke in 14 months, but when I go by someone smoking the smell is just wonderful to me. It does not make me want to smoke again I am done with that for good. But damn that aroma is so good!

My wife smoked years ago and she cannot stand the smell of it now...
Opposite for me. It makes me disgusted to think how much of that smoke I put in my lungs.
I hate the smell of cigarettes and always have. Throw up a poll Op. This thread could get interesting like the other smoking thread.
The third hand smoke repulses me the most.
When a lot of people are smoking on tv, it makes me want one. Quit 10+ years ago. |
Haven’t smoked in probably 12 years. Now I hate the smell of smoke
Growing up we still had smoking in restaurants, etc. I always kinda liked the smell for some reason. Never got the urge to take up smoking though.
ETA - The smell of the people after they were done was and still is horrendous. |
that anyone could actually like the smell of cigarettes.
Cigars on the other hand...... |
I miss smoking everyday. It is the one vice I truly miss. I smell people smoking and I want one. Last cigarette was over a decade ago. Last regular after dinner cigar was just under a decade ago. I backslid at a wake 2 years ago and had a few cigars. They were glorious.
ETA Your insurance may allow you to lung cancer screen through Low Dose Computer Tomography as early as 50 years of age. I wholeheartedly recommend this even if you need to go out of pocket. It, early diagnosis, gave a friend an extra decade of life. More info at the Mayo Clinic |

They really stink and enough exposure really wrecks my hay fever. I think it is all the added chemicals in them these days. I quit 30+ years ago.
Was never a smoker, but used smokeless tobacco for 20ish years. It’s been 5 years since I quit, and I still enjoy the smell when someone cracks open a can near me.
Cigarette smoke is rancid. Holy shit I never realized how chemical stinking it was until I quit. Now a cigar on the other hand? Pure good tobacco stinks pretty good. Not as good as teh demon jazz cabbage but pretty good.
Fuck no. I can smell it 3 cars away in traffic with my windows up. I don't know how I ever smoked that shit
Cigarette no, but I will occasionally get a wiff of a sweet pipe tobacco that makes my mouth water. Even though I haven't smoked in over 20 years.
Hell yes. Or seeing someone smoke, seeing that look of bliss in their eyes. Of course, I've only been stopped for six weeks now
NO. Whenever I get a whiff of a cigarette it makes me want to puke. People who smoke stink worse than dog shit but don't know it.
Yeah, I fucking love it.
Smoked 5 years, quit 10 years ago, and still miss it every day. Probably still bum 5 smokes a year. |

Last Marlboro was 11/11/1999. Can't stand the smell of them lit. But if you're about to open a brand new pack, I'll take it from you so I can open it. I LOVE the smell of a freshly opened pack of smokes. Love the smell of "REAL" Tabaco shops, not head shops. Once you light one though, I'm walking away.

There are 2 kinds of smell. Freshly lit cig and stale cig smoke.
I like the first still. Hate the stale cig smoke smell. Quit 10 years ago. |
I don’t like the smell ,but miss the sensation of smoking. 28 years, quit cold turkey.
A lit cigarette, yes but I quit many years ago and will never smoke again.
A stale cigarette butt or ashtray...hate it. |
Back when I quit (1999), I taught myself to hate it. I still hate it on clothing, but a whiff of secondhand outdoors doesn't bother me.
Smoked for 20 years, quit cold turkey 8 years ago. Can’t stand the smell now, and I can smell a cigarette burning in a car ahead of me in traffic.
I like the smell of cigarette smoke in open air, like when you walk close to someone smoking outside. I do not like the disgusting ashtray smell that accumulates on smokers and their possessions.
I've been off them for 8 years. I find the smell disgusting now. The smell of it off of smokers clothes is very noticeable.
Smoked 20 years, quit almost 2 years ago. I still crave it and I stil love the smell
I'm 6 months without smoking. I still enjoy the smell of a freshly lit cigarette, but I can also smell the pure stink off folks who do smoke. I don't mind folks smoking around me, but it does make me want one still.
Cigarette smoke smells horrible. I don't mind cigars or pipe smoke.

I'm kinda like you OP.
It doesn't bother me a bit to smell it but I don't to smoke another one. I quit over three years ago. |

I have never smoked one cigarette but I love that smell of a fresh burning cigarette. Its among my favorites smells. Weird I know.
Makes me sick. Also makes me wonder why I ever did it, and how the fuck we used to eat in restaurants when people were smoking like chimneys just a few feet away.
