Now I really feel old..... Shit, put 'em in front of an Atari 2600, or the games older than that, like Pong. "Have you played Atari today?"

On Super Mario Bros....there was a rumor you could jump over the flag at the end of the level. Anyone ever do this or is this an urban legend?

View Quote Done it, you just take off running past the castle and as far as I know just keeps going forever after that. Just background images, no obstacles or enemies. Also bouncing on the turtle shell for a shit ton of lives. |

Dude, beanie girl got top of the flag on the first try?! I've been doing it for damn near 30 years and I still can't hit that consistently.
Bullshit is what it is. Beginner's luck |

Fucking kids.
I was just playing a flash version of Atari 2600 Wizard of Wor while waiting for a program to update. |
|
How the hell have they never heard of Legend of Zelda!? That series made it to fairly recent consoles....

Should have given them contra to play Funny story- I was playing COD on-line and made a comment about "cheating kids" and someone asked if I even knew what the Konami code was. I said I remembered playing Pong in an actual arcade beside the pinball tables and that I bought my first Atari 2600 with money from mowing yards (I'm in my forties). He called me gramps. |

Blowing on the cartridge... phhhh
I cleaned the contacts on my games over the last year, including the connector in the deck, and they all fire up like new. |

Still have an NES and my kids have played it. They saw this video a couple days ago and thought it was silly that these older kids did not know what it was.

I still have mine hooked up and I still play it. I finally beat Mike Tyson in Punchout this year. I also have a snes hooked up. My four year olds love to play Duck Hunt on my nes.

My brother BigDozer66 got ours from when we were kids. My wife was given another about 12 years ago. Came with a combo duck hunt/super Mario bros. I bought a Zelda later and played it through. It's now in my daughters room. Not sure if she plays it anymore but she did for awhile. Need a contra for it though.

I used to talk shit on the NES because I felt my C64 was a superior gaming machine.
I joined the PC gaming master race at a young age Speed

I love the comment about having ultimate holster status today if you had one. lol
"People drinking Starbucks and reading 'The Fault In Our Stars' couldn't touch you." |

hell we played pong on a black and white with rabbit ears and we thought the world had come to an end
|

Yeah... Most 4-6 year olds know what a NES/SNES is...
Innercity children.... They don't count... |
|
I can't watch it right now, did they make them play Battletoads or that goddamn water level from the ninja turtles game?

This video is horse shit.
I interact with about 160 17-18 year olds on a daily basis. The majority of them have played NES and a fair number have even played Atari 2600 and older consoles. They just got some of the most retarded, sheltered-ass douchetards they could find. |
