This guy supposedly bought the last of the leftover Bren Ten parts from some shop and proceeded to do this to them. His description :

I purchased the parts store from Costa Mesa all the original parts frames slides this is a completely original Bren X to the last screw, Because of Bren X QC issues every gun (see my additional auctions) has been completely stripped, checked and precision fitted to insure perfection and is covered by our one year limited warranty. Additional magazines are available at an additional price This gun is identical to the TV guns and may be one. Includes certificate of authenticity regarding my adventure purchasing the parts factory, statement from gunmaker Jay and photos and a FFL chain of custody showing the history of this frame (gun). These are the last all new factory new Bren X Guns in the world there will never be any more as there are no more original frames

If you're familiar with original Bren Ten you know it came with a stainless frame and blue slide. He kind of got that backwards. Nice finish on the frame btw.

This one looks like he tried to replicate the Miami Vice Bren with the all chrome finish by rattle canning the frame grey. And it looks like he simply polished the slide to make it shiny.

Looks like another rattle can job. What the hell did he do to slide? Some kind of relief cut?

And he made one a race gun. Holy WTF?

The paint/finish you can fix.

But based on the fact it looks like he butchered that simple task I’d be worried what the internals looks like.

Sure as fuck wouldn’t pay that price.

Exactly. If he had just sold the parts he could have got some good money and Bren owners could have had some very scarce spare parts. But after he did that to them I wouldn't trust them even just to buy for spare parts.

I just try not to think of it. I remember at my former agency how the great-granddaughter of a WWI vet turned in a machine gun he had brought back and taken care of by oiling it, etc. before he passed. She just didn't want it in her house. Somehow, someone was able to save it from destruction by getting it to a museum.

My understanding is that Vltor bought the design from someone who bought them from D&D. No one can bring their own Bren Ten to market because it would infringe on Vltor's rights to the design. And now that Vltor has apparently decided that it is not a priority to them, who know when/if we'll ever see an updated Bren Ten (or whatever it as going to be called).

It's vaporware until my LGS can order one from his supplier.

Bren 10 had some retarded "features" designed to make lawyers happy.

It is cool as an unobtainium collectible, but overrated as a practical "fighting pistol."

All of the Bren frames had that logo, every one of them, whether they passed QC or not. When they went bankrupt, station wagon loads of parts were removed, mostly junk.... 1400 guns were actually made. This includes SMs, MSMs and SFL/ SFD. Those are parts guns, and are junk. There are proper guns out there, and they should be magnafluxed and x rayed for casting flaws. Both of mine are safe to shoot, but they are safe queens, and never see the light of day.

So are Brens. You need to know where to look. 2 people in the US have all the parts. All but frames and slides. We are talking lifetime parts supplies.

There is more... A lot more....And those station wagon loads of parts were a finders fee for locating Tom and Michael. There was a certain individual who was exceptionally good at that.

I'd own one in a heartbeat, but I prefer .45ACP. Luckily, they have those, too. I actually prefer them over the CZ 97, which although well made, is a handful.

BTW: MSRP for the 10mm is the same for the 9mm, .40S&W, and the .45ACP.
