So we have really high ceilings.

This fan is making a noise like a bearing and I need to swap it out.

HOW?

It’s waaaaay the fuck up there. How am I supposed to do that?

Check out YouTube for "how ladders work".

Last house had a fan 28' feet up.

Hand to rent a bigger ladder because I couldn't figure out how to bungie tie two smaller ones together like I've seen done in videos.

I work on floors. I am not meant to be in the air.

I had to buy an expensive ass ladder when I got this house to be able to change light bulbs nshit.

There is a 100% chance I would fall off and break my neck if I also had a fan up there.

I didn’t think about it but I think I will have to go this route to have any stability to not fucking die.

Hire someone but scaffolding is the answer. You can rent that stuff from HD if you're so inclined.

Ladder can be wonky. Scaffolding is ideal, you'll need a few flights. Easily rented. Alternatively, hire someone but make sure they're insured and bonded in the event of a fall, but you'd probably still get sued anyway.

Usually a tall stepladder. Your lucky since your ceilings are vaulted an extension ladder will do the job. Put the feet on the floor and the boots against the ceiling.

Also not a bad idea to put clean rags around the ladder boots to not mar the ceiling.

you're not, that's what we electricians get paid to do.  I have a 16 foot a frame in the shop. 90.00 and hour plus windshield time from Ohio

21 hours @ 90.00 = 1890.00

+ gas and hotel and about 1500.00

1.5 to change fan 180.00

$3750.00

1. Rent a single-man electric lift.

2. Scaffolding

3. Get a ladder and replace the fan head/blade assembly and you won’t have to go all the way up to the ceiling. Sorta gets dicey there as not all fans mount to the pipe the same, and if it has a remote, the remote unit is likely between the canopy and Sheetrock, and may not be compatible with the new fan

4. Call an electrician who is going to do either 1, 2, or 3 and charge you for the labor of getting the equipment there/set up/taken down and the rental marked up

You're not getting to Texas in 10.5 hours from Ohio.

Unless you only charge one way. In which case you're slower than molasses in an igloo.

If you’ve never bent a woman over a ladder and hit it from behind on a job site, you’ve lived a very vanilla life.
