For work I carry ZT 0350 or Kershaw Emerson 6k or 7k folders as they are beefy enough to do a little bit of prying if needed.

Carried a Blur for years and it’s beat to hell but still fires hard.

Everything else it’s usually a Microtech Ultratech or other assisted/otf

Lots of great choices.

Some days it’s a classic larger Victorinox
Medium I go spiderco like the native or Kershaw Blur
Or an older bitchmade that is pre-public stupidity.
If I want larger I may grab the Gerber Fast06

Budget?
Preferences?
Any work restrictions (like blade length)?
What do you usually use a pocket knife for?

I like deep pocket clips, of course, one-hand opening. Outdoors use, I prefer a stouter folder; office work and general EDC, I like a good slicer. There's really so much variety and quality on the market, you kind of need to narrow down the above.

What usually rides in my pocket these days is a Skallywag Tactical MDV Folder. Nice and slim, pocket opening, locks into the hand very well.

If it’s not that, it’s a Fox karambit, Kizer Sheepdog XL, Kizer Mattox, Quartermaster flipper, or Artisan Cutlery Proponent.

Spyderco Military or a Kershaw Blur. Depends on what pants I'm wearing that day. I prefer the Military, but I have gigantic hands, and it's one of the few pocket knives I've found that's big enough for me to hold comfortably.

This one.

A Gerber of some flavor, something inspired by the Fairburn-Sykes.  I like that lock mechanism because I can open or close/lock it with one hand, which is useful if I'm doing something.

But for an alternative, I've been using a CRKT Lil' Guppy for about 15 years now as my keychain multi tool w/knife, and love it.

I beat the shit out of a bronze 0350 at .work as a maintenance tech. It stayed sharp and is a beast. Off time I carried a para 2. I swear that 350 looks like it had a bomb dropped on it. To bad, because its apparently a collector now.

Buck 110 or 112 Slim Select or Slim Pro, depending on if you expect it go get beat up or you want something a little nicer.

The Buck 722 Spitfire is a very affordable EDC option. Slim profile, light weight, good if you prefer a hole over a thumbstud. Close cousin to the 112.

Buck 040 Onset of you prefer something with a frame lock and flipper tab. Very slick knife. Haven't picked one up, yet, since I just don't think I'd give it the pocket time it deserves.

Cold Steel has had some excellent options in the past. Don't know what their quality is, post-GSM. Carried a Recon-1 for ages, still love it.

Grabbed an Espada XL recently, still seems decent. Have a Counter Point XL on order, so we'll see how things are holding up before contracts start ending and all manufacturing moves to CHOY-NAH.
