(Mural Difficulty Level: 10) https://i.imgur.com/iylUljN.jpg Little known nerd fact: Of the dead warriors selected by the Valkyries, only half of them actually end up going to Valhal (Valhalla), which is located in Asgard. As most of you probably know, Valhal is the hall of Odin, where warriors spend time training and preparing to fight for the gods in the final battle (Ragnarok), and feasting and drinking in the evenings. As a side note, the warriors will NOT "live forever" since most of them will be killed in Ragnarok. But, the other half of the dead warriors selected by the Valkyries actually end up going to Freya, and live in her hall (called Sessrúmnir), located in Fólkvangr. It's not entirely clear whether those warriors will also fight in Ragnarok alongside Odin's army, or if they have some other purpose. So even if someone was a brave warrior that was killed in battle, and was one of the small number of the dead who were selected by the valkyries, there was only a 50/50 chance they would end up in Valhal. They could just as easily go to Sessrumnir. |

I'm looking for decent hull plans for a viking ship. Any thing I should be looking at? I've got a few pictures I could find online, just not sure what hull we should be looking to build. I'm hoping we can do a more accurate version this time.

I think you're closer to it than I am. It's pretty cool and they have a couple rigged up with reproductions of the bones they're digging and you can stand at a giant window in front of the archaeological dig to see different layers and sizes of various creatures. It's pretty cool if you haven't been there, in Hot Springs, SD IIRC, southern end of Black Hills. Assuming it was prey, Dinosaur would be maybe 2x-5x larger or so? Mammoth Site |

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident. |

There's the Wyoming Dinosaur Center in Thermopolis, WY.
I can't remember if this is the one we went to or not. I'm thinking the one we went to had a dig in process inside a building. The bones were originally found at the start of a construction project. |

View Quote Not sure if they have hull plans, but here's a link to the Viking Ship museum in Denmark (in Roskilde). They not only have the remains of several ships, including a long ship - but they also build replicas, using Viking period tools and methodologies. They built a long ship many years ago and sailed it to Ireland and back. I didn't spend a lot of time on their site, but they might have some good resources. https://www.vikingeskibsmuseet.dk/en/ Here's the ship they built and sailed to Ireland: |

You could add some of the icons of Norse mythology - like Thor angrily beating his anvil (i.e. thunderstorm), Valkyries, a Valhalla motif, or a rendering of Yggdrasil or Jormungand...
