I am biased, but IMO the current, modern 6.4 Hemi is one of the very best, with OE exhaust sound. We can kinda sorta keep her quiet when driving sedately, and she can absolutely scream in displacement glory when pushed. She still shakes the whole vehicle at start up, and kinda rumbles the house when we start her in the garage.

View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: But what about the people doing it just for the sake of being an obnoxious douche? Don't try to tell me there aren't any. Those fuckers can FOAD. IDK you tell me. Let me paint a picture: Beat to absolute rustbucket shit 30+ year old single cab pickup. Mismatched body panels holding it together. Greasy looking dude in a filthy white wifebeater with arm hanging out the window, cheap cigarette in mouth. "I dare you, motherfucker" scowl on his face. Straight exhaust. Gunning it from stop light to stoplight on a weekday afternoon on a busy city street. Revving the engine against the brake while stopped. Kinda seems they might be to me. |

I'm convinced that people with loud exhausts either didn't get enough attention as a child, or are mouth breathers....or both I guess.
Track cars don't count as it's all about time. The retard down the street who likes to floor it just to hear his truck make noise is a moron. |

I found an online test similar to the one the article said they used to evaluate the study participants.

Priller V4 thru a shorty is a glorious sound |

My personal favorite is when someone has a little ricer with an exhaust that sounds like a Briggs & Stratton at 20000 rpm. Makes me laugh every time.
The legit most annoying however is an Amish horse & buggy with a sound system that will rattle your windows clip clopping by at 2 MPH. I timed a buggy one day when I was sitting on my porch, from the first hit of bass I could hear to the last was a little over 12 minutes. I’ll take a loud ass exhaust wizzing by at 60 & being gone in 10 seconds over that shit any day. Now the whistle of a deleted diesels VGT, mmmmmm mmmmm mmmmmmm, music to my ears. |

I am putting a blackwidow muffler on the 2000 4runner with the 3.4v6.
Damn thing is so quiet that pedestrians do not hear me getting close to them. I have always put louder mufflers on vehicles and snogo. 2002 4runner 3.4 with Black Widow Race Venom muffler |

I wonder what the ratio of those who like loud exhaust and hate the smell of weed is?

I miss the sound of a 283 or 327 with a set of 28-inch glass packs that were burned out to the point of being straight pipes.

The undesirable trait, according to libard journalists, is testosterone.
My Borla equipped vehicles sound magnificent! Not real loud at full throttle and almost sound stock at low throttle settings, just perfect. |

When I was a kid, one of my uncle's used to coast his Harley from down the block when he'd return at 2am from banging hang-arounds. SoCal 1%er, yet so considerate of others

Quoted: How about loud chainsaws. Get yourself a McCulloch 10-10 chainsaw for one of the loudest most masculine chainsaws ever made. What is a muffler? Who gives a shit? They made that thing for performance in a time before the epa was a bunch of fagggots. Your neighbors won’t have the,”is that a weed wacker or a chainsaw?,” anymore. THEY WILL KNOW! View Quote I have a 10-10s, they truly are the loudest chainsaw I have ever run. But they are also the cuttingest chainsaw I have ever owned and that chrome bore is incredibly long lasting. Ports are crazy big too. It also, even after quite a bit of use, smoked the shit out of my brothers fancy Stihl chainsaw that cost him bucu bucks. |

Quoted: Couldn't possibly have anything to do with lowering back pressure and increasing horsepower. Nope, people just do it to be loud and piss other, peaceful people off. Well, ok, some do it for exactly that reason. But not all of us! View Quote IMHO there's a giant difference between the fartcan honda crowd, and the guy who realizes he's paying for a V8 car (Gas, insurance, the bigger tires) and he wants to hear some of the soundtrack There's still a muffler on it, the cold starts raise your T levels, but a proper exhaust system of a tasteful rumble-level, I think is one of life's great joys for the big engine vehicles (Muscle cars and trucks) |

I’ve got the quietest aftermarket exhaust available on my car. Mainly because I don’t like cabin drone, but also because loud cars that aren’t fast… suck.
