Ron. Is there a way to get an insert for the 723/727 M4 cut barrel for the Gordon can? The ones that were made will not work. I have one collar made to run the AEM5 that might fit with some material removed off the ID. But the collar that came with the can is for the skinny barrel.

When people ask for a gordon collar. I ask for barrel diameter. Some ask for an undersized collar and plan on cutting it to fit. Not sure why you have an undersized one.

I'm going to take tomorrow morning off and work on this. I found 4-5 emails for M4's and M24's and put them in the proper folders and responded back. I'll post when done and anyone that hasn't heard back can
try again. I'd like to get this sorted out before I start on the 2 batches. RonA |

Still undecided if I want to keep the barrel setup on that gray A2 upper or switch it to a my C7 upper. |

If I may change the topic from emails... the M24 can looks like it is 1” longer than the AEM5-30 however reflexes over the barrel 2” more. My graduate level math courses tells me the M24 can extends the overall length 1” less than the AEM5-30. Other than the overall length, what practical difference is there between the two? Is there a significant difference between sound or flash reduction between? Does one have less gas blowback than the other on a gas gun?

An aside, but relevant - is everyone getting emails when there is a post to this thread? I have all the boxes checked and I get notices about other threads, but not this one. I have to rely on my memory to come and check, lol.

Question about the contour of the collar itself:
If I wanted to have a gunsmith contour a bolt gun barrel for an AEM5, i.e. for the "collar" to be integral with the barrel, what would be the dimensions I'd need to supply? My understanding is that the collar has a 20 degree taper, but I've searched up and down and I can't seem to find the dimensions on the larger outer diameter of the rear of the collar, or the smaller outer diameter toward the front. |

Hey Ron, I'm a little confused as to how I'm supposed to get on the list for the Gordon can and M24 can. I sent an initial email asking to be put on the list to which you instructed me to order through my local dealer. I contacted them, they called you and were supposed to put an order for three cans (M4, M24, and AEM5). They emailed me back however and said I needed to email you again with which cans I wanted. Is this correct or should I contact my dealer again to have them place an actual order with you? Posting this in an open forum just in case others are wondering how to get on the list as well. Thanks, Jared |

Yes the set screw is enough. The collar is nice and snug as it's reaches the step. Not "press fit" tight but snug.

I have undersized collars but remember that the collar needs to butt up against something. either the gas block or the gas block journal if there isn't a step between the gas block journal and the thread shoulder.
