No it was a hair undersized. Ron bailed me out with a collar. Wasn’t the clean setup I was originally hoping for but the rifle shoots lights out and sounds great.

Just a heads up for anybody looking to go down that road.

AEM5-30 was approved after a long 18 months... I thought it was just an AEM5 with a bigger bore but I was pleased to learn it has a bit more volume! Looking forward to testing it out this weekend. I'm stunned by how solid it feels but how little weight it feels like it adds!

@Ron are you taking M24 preorders yet?!

Shoutout to ADCO and Ron for helping get together on my bolt gun i mentioned earlier in the thread. looks great and was done fast. Ron provided a 5/8x24 brake that would mount the AEM5. Also finally got the first of two AEM5s in hand yesterday, with knurling, and really impressed all around. Should solve my issue of shooting an old 30 cal can on my 223 bolt and it finally completes my Mk12.

ill get pictures of the bolt once i get my glass mounted up.

what finish is on the cans, is it cerakote? id like to just rattle can one in FDE so i can keep them with their respective hosts easily.

Thanks to Ron and ADCO, again!

I'm new to the world of AE cans, so I'm sure this is nothing new to you guys.  I called AE today about a couple of things and spoke to Ron.

Great dude, answered all of my questions and is getting me setup with what I need.  In a world of shitty gun related customer service it was pretty amazing to call, have someone answer and be able to talk to the owner.

I've got a couple AE cans in the queue and I'm even more psyched.  I get why you dudes speak highly of Ron.

Been looking at getting an AEM5 and I was wondering if the "normal" collar would fit on my barrel?  It's a Rainier Match 18" 5.56 barrel.

Is it contoured for a collar? If so what’s it measure?

It looks like it is.  It has a sort of "ledge" where the collar would go.  I'll see if I can get some measurements tomorrow.

I'm kicking myself for not keeping up with this thread.
I appear to have prematurely given up hope of ever owning an M24 can, but it sounds like there was a run of them that I missed?

I think I also saw in my quick read through that Ron is making another batch? How do I go about getting on the list for one?  Is it direct, or through a distributor?

Anyone have a new short collar to trade for a new long collar?

I just re-did my emails folders and am transferring orders for AEM5's, M4(Gordons), and M24's into proper folders so I can notify people a bit easier.

That looks like a no step collar. If you measure from the from the edge of the brake port to the start of the taper, 2.05" is for an AEM3 or 4, and 2.5" if for an AEM5.

Ron, not to add more work to your already crammed schedule, but I think your email may not have got the memo about pausing any retirement plans.

I’ve sent three messages in the last week and I don’t think they are making it to you

Gordon and aem5.

I dont remember there being an option for color so I'm assuming this is the gunkote. I really wish it was the same color as the aem5 though.
