The son of @2JokersWild was diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia this week and is at Seattle for care.

Definitely appreciate any thoughts, prayers and good wishes. I'll tell ya...After our visit with the doctor on Wednesday I was really fearing the worst. My understanding of cancer is pretty limited, but anytime they add on that disclaimer "and its spread" its bad. Really bad. I was freaking the hell out to think it had spread to his brain.
After our visit at the cancer center in Seattle on Friday however I feel much more confident we can kick cancers ass. The Fred Hutch cancer center is something else, thats for sure. |

Fight fight fight is the only answer. Fuck cancer |

Wishing your boy beats it. I've done three tours of the Big C Ranch. No version of cancer is fun. Hopefully, his youth and spirit will help him overcome it. Ask lots of questions, question every decision.

A father should never see his son die first. I hope all turns out for the better. I know a few people who have beat cancer.

We went to University of Washington yesterday to kick off the Chemo roller coaster. Of course, not to keep it low key and easy going right out of the gate ends up he was having atrial fibrillation. Didnt have any symptoms, but I tell ya the nurses were moving with focus getting an IV in place and meds in the system to get that under control. It pushed out the start of chemo, looks like that ride leaves tomorrow.

My thoughts and prayers for your son. No child should have to endure this. I am in remission from Stage 4B Cancer myself. Just keep it positive and keep him as comfortable as possible. Kids are resilient and bounce back. I’m sure your son will come out of this stronger and even more resilient when he beats it.

Things are going well. Sometime around the middle of February they did a full workup and there was no detectable cancer is his brain, blood or bone marrow. Which is really good. However, it also means the next 2.5 years of chemo is mostly flying blind and just going through the checklist. We actually just ended the last phase of treatment last week and starting Friday go into the next phase. We're stepping down a bit from 4 to 5 days a week in Seattle to 3 days a week but man, its still a lot. I suppose I cant complain, work is super understanding about the situation and the treatment is available (30 years ago it'd probably be a death sentence) and hes responding well. He did have a spell of bad nausea 2 weeks back. Lasted about a week, stomach was always upset. But thats cleared up thankfully.
So it could be a whole lot worse for sure. Back in the saddle Friday for the next 2 months. |

Glad to hear some positivity.
Wish him the best for us. If you can make it to LCR I’m sure we can ensure he’d have a good time. (If it’s possible for him to safely be there) |
