Thanks for the new thread doc. I enjoy building clone guns and saw the MARSOC M4 in the MK18 thread a while back. I like it right away and went about building one. Mine is a real franken gun:
BCM lower that was IonBonded in brown
DD 14.5" mid length Govt profile barrel
DD RIS II M4A1 rail
BCM BCG
GunFighter Mod 4
Spikes stripped upper
PRI rear sight in brown
KAC front sight in brown
SF Flash hider
Magpul CTR
Magpul RSA
Magpul ASAP
Magpul MIAD
Aimpoint M4s w/ Aimpoint cantilever throwlever mount

I know the ACOG is the appropriate optic, but I shoot my guns with Aimpoints much more often and I had an extra M4s on a gun thats just been sitting in the safe. It was a real pain to find an upper in roughly the same color as the lower and rail. Lower and rail match pretty well, the upper has more of a green hue. Just as I was about to get a black upper to finish the gun, I came accross a guy who had a full Spikes gun in this color, but was selling the upper seperate. I asked if he minded if I bought the upper alone and replaced his with a black one. He didn't and that's how I wond up with this.

I've been shooting this gun a lot since I've built it, usually with the Surefire can. Shot it several times at our Friday night range outings, and at a few CFDCC matches. It's been great, and I expect to be shooting it a lot more!

What's the make of the Comp M4s mount?  Is that the one made by GG&G?

Found a matech buis for $38 this afternoon, too--did I do well?

Now for an optic $$$$$$$

I seen matech Buis on eBay yesterday for $19 a piece they had like forty or something. Kinda odd

I give up, you guys bought all the SU-230's and FDE civilian models . Funny thing is even if I do find them used, guy wants more than he paid for it...

Seems like even the regular black civilian specterDR 1-4x 5.56 went up in price over the years, whats a good price currently?

Thanks

The price is enough that I would rather get 3-4 leupold mark 4s for that price or even 2-3 suppressors .   Their original price was 1600-1800

It is silly.  When I had a Elcan, I bought it for $1100 and I sold it for $1100.

ATP-000-A18VIS came in today. Heavier than I thought it would be, but I like it. Comes with 3 visible lasers for each (IR Laser, Visible and Illuminator). The Illuminator is adjustable from flood to beam (looks silly in flood, but I get the idea). Controls are all the same as a regular PEQ-15. Anyway, onto the photos.

On a side note, took my old battery box and made my 870 a "Block II"

Got a little carried away, and put the battery box on my 1911 as well, just for giggles.

Once my MRDS and hood comes in, I think I'll be done with this rifle for a while. Until further upgrades from SOCOM...

I wanted one...that is, until I found out civilians cannot purchase them, even though they're not the real deal technically.

I actually prefer the look of the black front 99051. Maybe it's because that's what I have...but who knows.

Got a little carried away, and put the battery box on my 1911 as well, just for giggles.

Once my MRDS and hood comes in, I think I'll be done with this rifle for a while. Until further upgrades from SOCOM...

Sweet

Are the power levels on the laser adjustable from LO/HI?

Lever goes that way, still the same output.

What is the point of having the ATP-000-A18VIS?  Is it just for clone purposes or people without NVGs?

Are all settings red visible lasers (No IR function whatsoever)?

All settings are visible. I bought it for clone status, plus having a laser is pretty awesome too. I don't have night vision equipment, do I'm not missing much.

How effective is the red laser? Is it outdoor visible/ visible in contrast with a weapon light or is it low light only?

Just got word from Elcan that they will be making more of the commercial FDE units and can Pre order them soon. In other news the Black 2 is no more and ordered all new FDE goodies so itll be more legit. With the news from Elcan ill definitly be looking for a FDE DR to replace the Black. Debating on a stubby TG VFG I hated the fullsize...

I dig a black block II. I dig an FDE block II as well though. That's why I have both.

I'm gonna transfer the T1 on my black block II to an SBR in the near future, and likely turn it into more a RECCE/SPR though. Likely pick up a Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10x32 FFP with an offset red dot.

Makes me wonder if they'll start making the FDE Doctor mounts again.

They need to just make the SU-230 a commercially available variant. The demand is obviously there.

What's so funny about that?  A civilian legal with IR would be awesome.

I think what he means with the LOL is that they do make one with IR; it's called a PEQ-15.  There was no reference to civ legal or not

Just waiting on my FDE RIS to be delivered tomorrow. Black RIS is in the EE.

Lighting made the Pmag look almost white ha-ha.

I'm aware of the peq15, guess I should have been more clear about being civilian legal.
