Then I would lose the RMR and switch to the KAC RAS.

CMMG M4, Troy Ind. Battle Rail, Magpul MOE stock, EoTech (ah hell I think it's a 512)

Good shooter.  Never an issue with the EoTech.  Magwell is tight with some PMAGs.

Not every M4 has a SOPMOD stock on it as issued.

Not trying to be a PITA, but I was always taught NEVER to bridge an optic between a receiver and a non free-float rail. Does it affect zero?

ETA: And damn, nice rifle.

LOL, I was wondering how long it would take someone to chime in with a comment along those lines. The 553 has an integrated mount/base & I also use the UK SAS lower RAS rail that clamps, it's very solid despite not being FF.... I wouldn't bridge with a traditional scope but a 553 has no problems doing so. I have not experienced any POI shift & much prefer the more forward mounting position.

& thanks

LE6921HB upper (Ops Inc brake & collar getting installed soon for my incoming 15th) on a LE6920 lower.

I see, thanks for clarifying. I've been considering building a PR, but really didn't like the idea of having to bridge the Upper and RAS. I see now it's not a problem.

Now with more rail. Now just need to decide on a light and optic and go from there.

Being point man with the metal detector most of the time my M4 would be slung on my side and it was getting caught in all the cannabis plants as we moved thru them.

Stay safe, brother.

Edit: Pic thread.

BRD has gotten to me badly. I'm already planning out a midlength carbine and rifle configuration.

A Doublestar DS-4 kit w/ chrome-lined 1:9 barrel, built on a LAR/Grizzly lower w/ MaTech rear sight. The light in the pic is my old Surefire 6Z in a weird Colt-marked mount, but it now has a Surefire M951 instead. The light is attached to the FSB by a MI short rail.

Here is my m4gery.  It has a PSA chrome lined 14.7" upper with perm. attached A2 hider.  It has a Joe Bob MPI/HPT bolt carrier group.  The lower parts kit is a PSA, and the lower is a Surplus Arms and Ammo.  It has a ARMS #71L-R BUIS, and a Vortex Strikefire Red Dot.

I kind of want to put a magnifier on it, but I don't think it will fit with the space I have on the Rail.

How "authentic" does my m4 clone look?  I realize the optic won't match, but I don't have the desire or money to spend more on an aimpoint or eotech right now.
