Here is my M4ish “tribute.” Not going to say clone because I went with a few non clone parts due to personal preference. Also not sure what variation this would be closest to, but I think Block 1?
As with most of my junk, almost everything was sourced from the EE. I assembled this from stripped receivers. Parts list: Colt 6920 lower Geissele G2S Magpul MIAD grip w/ trigger guard Colt 4 pos tube Surplus N1 stock H buffer Upper is surplus C AF BCM mod 4 ch AIM black nitride bcg Colt M4A1 SOCOM profile 14.5” bbl YHM Phantom 51t Mount pinned/welded by ADCO KAC Vero Beach RAS kit Colt side sling swivel Mag is a steel HK surplus mag. (Thank you pbjunkie!) Sling is a commercial one that came with a Bushmaster from 10 years ago. Yesterday I popped into a gun shop I haven’t visited before and immediately spotted a used TA01-NSN in the case. Owner and I worked out a trade for my used Aimpoint T1/LT660 +$100 and I got the ACOG. 
I’ve reached out to Chris at SAC for a Colt bcg and a Matech. Probably going to call it “done!” after that. Now I’m debating removing the big white rectangle from the stock, and leaving the other tape with “227” along with the pink “227.” It’s part of the stocks history, so I’m torn. I think it may look better without it though.
