He also brands his personal purchase items with a permanent marker symbol. Visible on the Ergo grip in this pic, and on the stock latch on the CTR in the first pic.

This is the guy that makes unit armorers nervous. Lol

Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but that Thompson grip is about to become part of my rig. At least to test out. I'm thinking an A.R.M.S. #17dl would be more sturdy. If nothing else it's a fun project.

Nice stick, bro! I dig the different colors. My Mod 1 was taken from a bunch of different builds/paint schemes and makes for a cool rig to look at, I think.

You just need to add the "img" tags around the address for the photo. On Flickr there's a little arrow at the bottom right of your photo. If you click that it will give you the URL to post. Just put the [*img*]http://....[*/img*] around that address to post a pic. Make sure to delete the asterisks * from inside those brackets and you should be good to go.

Thanks for the info. The 600m NSN looks like January 20, 2010. So I guess I'm going with the 300. My upper is from 05/01, handguard 08/16/00. Trying to keep everything close together.

Then again, the Gen 1 SOPMOD is October 27, 2006. So that might keep me awake at night.

Gen 1 was like 96-97' ish.  Got issued the M4A1 in 95' and had a ACOG when I went to Haiti the same year.

Was the FF RAS carbine ever issued on anything? Now that I have the proper one almost buttoned up, kind of wanting to deviate course a little into the oddball clones.

Funny you say that, because all of my carbines are fitted with a CAR stock. I was a little reluctant to getting it, because I really like the looks of the CAR. The cheek weld is soooo much better, but it is just so darn wide compared to the CAR. It's just a bulkier stock. It's almost a little bit of a love/hate relationship. I at least now have a little diversity in my stable.

Yes.  I sold the light and stock separately.  Both came from the same issued rifle so had same paint and wear.  Looks like someone removed some of the paint from the light tho.

I totally get it.  I’ve come full circle on my tastes and I’m back to the car stock on the majority of my rifles.  I just love the simplicity/weight/size, but I do love the looks of that sopmod and you can’t deny the comfort of it... especially having a beard with the whisker pulling car stock.

Yeah I took some of it off- started out with scrubbing the dirt out of the bezel so it would lock into white and IR modes. I left some of it for the salt

Went standard and ordered a MaTech from Shark Arms. Eventually going to grab KAC 600 and 300m rears, but this can carry over to my M16A4 when that time comes.

Families be expensive. Maybe I can start the market on being an influencer for being poor  even getting paid in Ramen, I only need 228 packs to equal a KAC 300m rear. It ain't the proudest hustle, but it would get the job done!

Picked up a light for my Block I build.  Wanted to go a little different and found a Surefire 660 Classic.  It’s an interesting light, I’ve owned an older 660 in the past but this model is a little different.  It’s basically a 660 body with an M951 series bezel in black and an XM dual switch.  It’s current output is basically negative lumens but I plan on installing a Malkoff drop in eventually.  Last pic is a comparison to an M951.

For those who are wanting to upgrade the bulb in the M951 or M952 Surefire's, here is what you need:

LED Milspec upgrade bulb

I am running this in my light and it's outstanding, something like 900 or so lumens compared to the 65 it came with.  Gives you choices on orange peel or smooth reflector (I used orange peel to duplicate original) and several different bulb "heat" ranges (I used the Cree XP-L2 Cool White)  The bulb is designed to fit in the 951 or 2 head with the shock absorber in the bezel, just need to pull off the outer spring of the bulb before installing, it's all in the directions it comes with.  No need to modify anything, stretch springs or stand upside down with your tongue sideways to make it work like with the Malkoff, which are way more expensive.  The Lumens Factory Milspec D-26LED is $35 and works.

I've noticed a lot of these don't have the slight step down in the barrel profile before the flash hider, but the flash hiders are extended. Are these 16" barrels cut to 14.5" with a pinned/welded FH? I've been interested in having this done to a Colt 6920 but I'm afraid of any potential downsides. What are they? Can it chip the chrome lining?
