I've seen the announcement that the FH556-212A suppressor/flash hider was selected by Crane back in 2011, how long were those in service before being replaced with the Surefire SOCOMs? Which flash hider got issued with the legacy Surefire cans? I see one that looks similar to the SOCOM 4 prong and another that looks like an A2X with a "chip" at the 6 o' clock like an NT4. Posted this in the Block II thread but figured it actually might be more of a Block I/PR thing...

Does anyone else find it hilarious that Shark Arms' email is "bigbadgunguy" for PayPal? That sort of defiance just won future business, if their service didn't already.

When I asked an employee about it, they said some local guy won it at a local FD fund raising raffle and traded it in(he wasn't an "AR guy"). This was just after Colt announced their plans to discontinue commercial AR sales, so I bought it for ~$900 with plans to sit on it for a few years. https://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com/prodimages/25669-DEFAULT-l.jpg Fast forward to now, and I'm thinking about using it as a base for a Block 1/1.5 clone.. The barrel appears to be M4 profile and has a 1/7 twist. My question is, would the upper be clone correct as long as I get barrel in to be cut down to 14.5? And, would the gas port need to be enlarged? I already have an ACOG, KAC Rails, KAC BUIS, and Colt stock to replace the Magpul furniture. TIA View Quote How is the upper receiver marked? |
