Something I'm working on as a clone, but a beater clone.  I'd originally built a recreation of my M4 in the Army, but decided to evolve it into what some of the Recon Marines are carrying on their MEU.  I still need to do a few things, like get a KAC rear sight, go with a standard trigger guard, and add my EOTech EXPS in place of my Aimpoint PRO, but other than that, there's a lot of variety in the stocks, charging handles, grips, lights, etc..., so I used what I like the most.

The downside, this thing is heavy AF for an AR, lol.  The Ergo rail extension is a solid block of metal all the way out at the end, but on the bright side, it shoots hella flat with all that weight.
Equipment list is:
-PSA M4 lower with Aero LPK.
-BCM Mod 3 grip
-Magpul CTR stock
-Matech BUIS
-Geissele Airborne CH
-Aimpoint PRO on Scalaeworks LEAP mount (going to swap out with an EXPS3-0)
-KAC Rails
-Ergo M4 Rail Extension
-Tango Down stubby VFG
-Streamlight HLX(?)
-Magpul 2-point sling

I've seen the announcement that the FH556-212A suppressor/flash hider was selected by Crane back in 2011, how long were those in service before being replaced with the Surefire SOCOMs? Which flash hider got issued with the legacy Surefire cans? I see one that looks similar to the SOCOM 4 prong and another that looks like an A2X with a "chip" at the 6 o' clock like an NT4. Posted this in the Block II thread but figured it actually might be more of a Block I/PR thing...

Does anyone else find it hilarious that Shark Arms' email is "bigbadgunguy" for PayPal? That sort of defiance just won future business, if their service didn't already.

He has such an early 2000's approach to online business, it cracks me up. But his pricing is solid and you couldn't ask for a nicer guy to buy from.

Not quite a clone, but pretty close.  This 6920 is my first AR and has seen many rounds.

Swapping the 300m out for a Matech, but other than that I think it's about done.

I’m not sure why I didn’t realize that I really should have 14.5” barrels on these.  At least they are all cut/pinned/welded.  I’m posting anyway my changes today.

Matech came in. Went off-base with the Umbrella Corporation BCG but I'm digging the overall build. Colt AF upper from 05/01, KAC RAS from 8/16/00. Thought the RAS date was pretty cool because 8/16 is my birthday. GWOT vibes.

Matech came in, and I went back to an A2 grip. I'm done messing with it now lol.

It is a close approximation of my last issued rifle.

Hey All,

I was in my wife's hometown a few months ago and was browsing their LGS and came across a Colt LE6920 MOE edition in the "used" section. What was interesting is that it still had the original mag/manual in sealed plastic wrap and the bolt carrier/hammer and other parts looked never-used. When I asked an employee about it, they said some local guy won it at a local FD fund raising raffle and traded it in(he wasn't an "AR guy"). This was just after Colt announced their plans to discontinue commercial AR sales, so I bought it for ~$900 with plans to sit on it for a few years.

Fast forward to now, and I'm thinking about using it as a base for a Block 1/1.5 clone.. The barrel appears to be M4 profile and has a 1/7 twist. My question is, would the upper be clone correct as long as I get barrel in to be cut down to 14.5? And, would the gas port need to be enlarged? I already have an ACOG, KAC Rails, KAC BUIS, and Colt stock to replace the Magpul furniture.

TIA

@CombatDiver mentioned adding an SF mount to a standard M4A1 for support personnel during a deployment, but taking it back to the standard A2 FH at the conclusion of the rotation IIRC.

Was the KAC 200 to 600 rear back up sight used on the M4A1 Block 1 or just the MaTech?
