In that last video, what light, stock, and vertical grip is the guy have on his rifle from the 3:00 mark on? The stock looks like a Magpul SL or SL-K.

Also, is the guy at 0:30 using a Surefire X300? What light is that?

I have a feeling that this build may turn into a GWOT thread rifle, but overall based on the Force Recon. We will see.

Most of the lights I've seen in pics and videos are Streamlight TLR with long gun kit or ProTacs

Ok so finally got my Ergo Ext and installed.  It has a smaller diameter than the RAS and lines up perfect until you torque the six bolts then it pulls the ext in a downward direction giving it that droop look.  It's solid as fuck and has zero play and although the droop is noticeable the rail never touches the barrel.  Intstalled on this 2018 Socom Factory upper (all cage coded).  If I can figure out a washer or shim setup we can level this bitch out but as stated it's not moving nor touching the barrel...............

It's a Keeper though..............Don't touch my Colt Socom upper'd KAC MRE though

Somebody talk to me as I'm just baffled at the fact that tightening the bolts pushes it down?  One would think it would pull it upwards......

When I had one, I even tried filing parts of it down to no luck. Gave it away. Allot of the guys in my unit ran them, and some even mounted their peq16s on them. I did not trust them for that.  However, they are nice for getting an extended grip and our command didn't care about us adding them.

Southern ingenuity knows no bounds! Just hammer a cap flat, trim to fit under swivel mount. Layer as needed depending on how loose it is.

Yes, got them issued way back in 96' IIRC.  One of the original items of a Block 1 and stock (not milled).  Tried it and didn't like the weight balance offset.  As a soldier carry the gun allot.  Great tool if your rifle is going to sit in a closet or trunk ready for self defense.

Alright, my goal is at 2:30.

It looks like:
-Magpul SL FDE
-BCM Gunfighter Vert Grip Short FDE
-Streamlight TLR1
-EOTech XPS (I'm guessing it is 3.0?)

The PEQ will have to wait for this build, but what is the magnifier? I can't see 100%, but does he have a BUIS on his rifle?

Honestly,  I just got all artistic with it, comparing pics and laying out the cutouts with a paint pen prior to cutting. 1/4" end mill, IIRC.

Completed pics here in this thread, but damned if I know what page.

Bedside gun and yes it adds tons of unbalanced weight to the rifle but it's so nostalgic and the Block 1 is like a fine wine gets better with age.  Love a plane jane M4 B1

I used one so I didn't have to carry my 1 go-to mag in my back pocket or some stupid buttstock pouch. Then you'd have those Safety Sallys that would think you've got a mag in and try to rip you apart.

Last trip I also had a M9, so I could drop the M4 when walking around the FOB and didn't really need it, though I still left it on.
