Picked up a Vortex for my URG-I and stuck it on here while I wait for Geissele. I like it on the CQBR!

Welp, got humpty dumpty all put back together again last night. The upper and lower are scrubbed clean n' shiny, I swapped in a nice fresh DD barrel, installed the Mk12 with Loctite 271 (usually use 262, but that's what I had on hand), gave the 4P a nice bubble bath in the ultrasonic and got it installed w/ Rocksett; CQBR is ready to handle some bidness :D.
The old barrel went off to DD today, but being the holidays I'm guessing it'll be well after the 1st before I get anything back. So, I'm glad I had a spare barrel on hand, cause I sure as hell wouldn't want to wait that long to go shooting. Plus, I've got the carbon all softened up in the RC and that needs to be shot to clean it out ASAP. That said, even weighing it wet and without shooting it first, it's already down 15 grams from where I started (564g down to 549g) - which is a damn good sign. And the blast chamber is probably the cleanest it's been since new, lol. So, a few more interesting bits... the gas tube was nearly fully occluded; not enough to impair function obviously, but I was surprised it was so clogged and still running fine. I'd guess close to 90% blocked. I also got a chance to take some shots of the throat and better pics from the muzzle end after giving the barrel a cleaning. Muzzle end:

Also picked up a Larue LT101 riser to passively shoot with my Eotech at night |
