View Quote Shit truly goes down in the bathrooms. Underrated tactical location. So what’s a reasonable price in today’s market for a Elcan SpecterDR in 5.56? I peeked at Eurooptic and EBay just for a quick reference. I’m seeing 1700+ for black and 1700-2200 for FDE. |

No way I go down that road |

I’ve been thinking EXPS3-0 with the G33 magnifier, but a buddy was talking to me about difficulty using red dots with astigmatisms. Could be nonsense, but it’s worth asking as I have an astigmatism in both eyes. Is the extra cost on the Specter worth it from a multifaceted standpoint? Thoughts....... View Quote I run a 300 on my CQBR but 600s on my 14.5s. Real-estate matters! Depending on where your astigmatism is, you may have problems with a red dot. Usually turning down the brightness of the dot helps. I have an astigmatism but it doesn't affect my central FOV much. I did replace the T2 and G33 on my CQBR with an Elcan because, again, real-estate matters. |

Do you have any eye relief issues? Do you feel capable of running the rifle in close quarters drills? |

Do you feel capable of running the rifle in close quarters drills? View Quote For me, the magnifier in addition to a red dot was like a fix for something that shouldn't need a fix. But my eyes are getting old/used up (2k+ hours of NVG flying will do that). With the Elcan, I can run it a bit further up, on 1x use it as a traditional red dot, switch it to 4x when I need the distance/help seeing the bull. Eye relief is eye relief to me. I set all my optics up so they're usable with my traditional NTCH position. |

Most SF teams deploy with both uppers but each team seems to have a preference. CD |
