Am I missing something? Why is it that the Daniel Defense V5 I ordered has markings just above the safety selector by the rail? It says "DDMV5".
Is this something that rubs off easily? A 2012 run that has different markings? I went through the entire thread and saw none marked that way....I am still waiting for the rifle to go to my FFL. http://i45.tinypic.com/2v3iwk6.jpg And here it is more clear: http://i50.tinypic.com/6yibeb.jpg Very confused.. |
|
|
I will add that I did email Daniel Defense so I will see what they say, if/when they reply. However, in the meantime if anyone has any insight on this that would be greatly appreciated.
The BCG and lower are marked like the ARs in this thread, I also noticed on my V5 that there is no "Daniel Defense" logo at the top of the rail, just before the barrel starts... |

|
I have the exact same markings, but with "M4V7" stamped on my M4V7 upper. I'm guessing it's new markings DD has rolled out in 2012. I also own a complete M4V4 that was manufactuted in 2011, and it has none of those markings whatsoever on the upper.

Thank you for the quick help!!!
Seriously....I was getting concerned. Kinda. I must admit, I am not particularly keen to the look of that labeling...not yet. It might grow on me like my RIA 2011 Tactical 1911. It has a huge white billboard on the slide that I grew to like...I will just have to see in person I suppose! |

The engravings on the left side of the upper receiver is something new that we are doing. Now that we offer Daniel Defense carbines is 3 different calibers and multiple different configurations, we want to ensure that everyone know exactly what their looking at and what ammo to put it in.

Good to know Thanks for the reply and I am very excited about my new DD M4! (P.S. when she arrives I will edit the picture in this post) |

Thanks again for the clarification. I didn't notice the "5.56" marking on the pictures of mine. Like I said, I think it will grow on me. Not a big deal if everything is the way the rifle should be

All Daniel Defense Rifles include an Rear Receiver QD Sling Swivel Adapter. They don't come with a swivel so yo uwould need to purchase one or get a sling that has one included. |

Completely unacceptable. IMO that looks really tacky compared to the old style, but I'm sure they have a reason for it... |

Proud to post up my brand new DDM4V5.
Here it is fresh out of the box: http://i47.tinypic.com/169eus3.jpg And here it is just waiting for the Aimpoint: http://i45.tinypic.com/fdsfn6.jpg I put on the Magpul MOE+ grip, the new BCM MOD 4 charging handle, the Magpul MBUS, and Primary Arms 3X magnifier. Still waiting for a Magpul MS3 sling, those Damage Industries swivel D rings, a muzzle brake (or Flash suppressor...haven't looked too much into it yet), a Fenix TK15 R5, and a VLTOR offset QD mount...Then probably think about the STR stock and a different VG. It never stops.... |

Took off all my picatinny rails. Still saving up for a surefire m600c scout light and some kind of optic. Also thinking about adding a fixed front sight base dissipator style.
