It's bigger than I anticipated.  I had to make the opening in the forearm end cap bigger to make the can fit inside it.

How does it sound? I was expecting more from my guardian. It def. looks better with the size. My guardian will be good when I get a threaded .22 pistol, I hope.

Latest version of my dedicated 22, now with more plastic! Picked up this New Frontier Armory lower half for $110 at a gun show two weeks ago, and swapped out the furniture.  It didn't explode or anything when I took it to the range last week  It worked fine and frees up the aluminum lower for other projects.

FWIW the upper receiver is a DPMS A2, with a CMMG conversion kit and a Spike's collar and dedicated 22lr barrel.

Top is a 16" CMMG Integral made by Innovative Arms.
Bottom is a 5" Spikes SBR with a G5-22.

so far so good and the bullet drop recticle works good for 50, 75, and 100 yds

shoots an inch high at 25yds and it won't lower anymore though

it was about $120 shipped

First time out for my boy and our new CMMG M4 dedicated 22lr.  Added a Magpul ACS stock, a quad rail, and a pile of Black Dog X-form mags.  Was proud of the little guy, and the CMMG ran flawlessly with CCI AR Tacticals.

Here is my custom built upper
Stripped CMMG upper
CMMG basic conversion kit with stainless side charging knob added. (side charging knob can be removed to use standard charging handle)
CMMG 16" M4 Profile Barrel, WASP Treated 4140 Chrome-Moly Steel, 1:16" Twist
Custom made carbon fiber free float handguard with stainless barrel nut and ferrule. (I machined and fabricated this handguard myself. I wanted a lightweight upper that would look great with my stainless suppressor sticking out of the end. I also wanted to be able to easily remove the barrel for cleaning, so all you need to do is unscrew the handguard and you're in business.)

Yep. I used a carbide endmill to drill the hole, cringed in horror as I ran a tap into the hardened bolt, then hopped on the lathe and turned, threaded, and knurled the knob.  Fun stuff!

Finished this Saturday.  This rifle and mags was made all from parts and accessory trades.  Less than $150 out of pocket.
Eagle lower, CMNG conversion, CMMG barrel/collar, CMMG and BDM mags.
FSB is a homemade clamp-on from the old parts box.  Used a Dremel and cut a slot on the bottom of the rear journal, smoothed edges with the Dremel as well.  Drilled out one side of the sling swivel larger and tapped the other side 8-24(same as BCG key screws)

How do you like the Sparrow? I've been thinking about picking one up.

FYI that's not a legal pistol config if the buffer tube can accept a stock.

ETA: not instead of now

It's not illegal according to the letter of the law.
an NFA firearm is made if aggregated parts are in close proximity such that they: (a) serve no useful purpose other than to make an NFA firearm (e.g., a receiver, an attachable shoulder stock, and a short barrel); or (b) convert a - 3 - complete weapon into an NFA firearm (e.g., a pistol and attachable shoulder stock, or a long-barreled rifle and attachable short barrel).

While I do have a stock, it is not in close proximity to the weapon, nor is its only useful purpose to make an NFA firearm (it's currently locked to a 20" barrel, which in conjunction with the stock, will make a legal rifle).

But I love the Sparrow Very quiet and light.  The new stainless ones have a little more FRP, but still sound great and are much easier to clean (mine is the classic aluminum version).

It may follow the letter of the law, but it could be a very expensive fight if something happened. They make pistol buffer tubes for a reason.

It's in the works (rough finding parts right now of course).  For now I have a hole in the tube with a screw in it, so it will require a tool to make the tube able to accept a stock.  If you think about it, any AR can accept a stock, just takes a tool.  Also, the stock itself is physically locked to a 20" barrel kept completely separate from the pistol, so it'll never be in close proximity to the pistol unless I'm attaching the 20" barrel to make it a rifle temporarily.

Sounds like a decent compromise. I'm hoping I have enough tax refund $$$ to get a trust setup so I can start stamp collecting
