Glass and dot are what shine on it!

Took the mini to 420yd. Couldn't get hits with 55gr on 1/2 size steel but the 75 handload wacked it on the second shot. Was kind of rushed so wasn't able to spend more time on it. Was just firing off the mag. I was zeroed for 75's so not upset about it.

Hopefully get some more time behind it at distance.

The P4Xi on the Bravo Company seems a tad more Tactile.. But this on just ehh, had to REALLY put my ears up against it or damn near silence to hear the clicks.. But overall I’m happy..

Ya. I shot a NX8 and P4Xi today back to back at 50,100, and 420 yards. While the extra 4x is great on the NX8 the glass clarity and thinner reticle on the P4Xi is just so much better.

Obviously the turrets were way better on the NX8.

Swapped to a 14.5 and will homebrew a F1'ed Aem5 style can.
(Getting impatient with the Socoms still in the pipeline. )

Put the dual CC back on the BCM build with the Rosco barrel. I have a surefire mini 2 waiting, so I wanted to be able to shoot it at my dealer until it clears. I like it a lot. I put a Superlative Arms gas bock on it, and I can get 4 o'clock ejection with weak 55 gr and an H buffer and standard spring. Got it zeroed quick today. Just using a SOLGW fighting trigger, but I liked it. I can see why guys have trouble getting the can off after a few hundred rounds...

Also how about a 3 round group I quit while I was ahead.

Nice shooting. Seriously, Let me know when you're ready to sell that scope (I'll have to know way in advance so I can sell all my other optics lol).

Been riding with this bruiser in the cruiser lately. It's been a while since I posted something different in here.
Swapped the Ballistic Advantage 10.5" barrel for an Expo Arms 10.3" Socom.
Removed the 249F to make way for an AAC 51T FH for that flush fit Mini4.
I've been considering getting an M4-2000 for the 10.X" uppers, but I really like how short and handy they are with the Mini4. I just worry about longevity.

Don't know why my images are getting so compressed...Good grief that's bad!

ETA: Shrunk the images a bit. It's a little better

Don’t get an M4-2000, that’s what I have and if I were doing it again I’d get a Surefire. Maybe it’s just familiarity with the Surefire because I have 10k x as many rounds through those, but I prefer it. The M4-2k isn’t bad by any means, I’d just go a different route if I was doing it again.

I'd prefer the Surefire for dedicated use on that upper. I'm just trying to suppress all the things. Still need an AEM4 for my 12.5", a 30 cal for a 308 I'm building, another Omega 9k and a full size 5.56 can for the shorties. I couldn't justify wrapping up that much cheddar for one can when I need like 3 more.

I wish I didn't have to budget, but I got 3 kids and limited income right now.
I'm trying to make sure they each inherit nice things and backups to those nice things

Found some pics of an older setup I thought I'd share. It's fun to go back and see past configurations. Honestly not much has changed on this upper, just light, sights and more paint.

Getting started with my mini NSW recce:

Inside is a BRT 11.5 suppressor gas drive barrel with the 5/8x24 muzzle thread. It will wear a Saker 556 with a Q plan B adapter.

It will probably also steal the kahles 1-6 from my Hodge 12.5 mini recce which I find less interesting than the idea of the FF RAS aesthetic

Slick rails feel so good in the hands but I often miss the classic looking rails. They just have so much more character IMO. The URX 3.1 is my favorite of the "slick" versions.

Why the 5/8x24 threads?
Maybe because Q refuses to produce their 1/2x28 thread cherry bombs in any meaningful amount, so it's much easier to find a 5/8-24 muzzle device?

Nice! I know they are the same barrel length, but the visual weight of the receivers make the Noveske look like a giant in comparison. A lot of power in a little SBR. How does the SDN-6 tame the blast?

Nah, I have a 1/2 cherry bomb too. It's on the Hodge 12.5

BRT offers it with 5/8 threads, citing increased precision capacity since the diameter of the barrel at the muzzle is significantly increased. KAC does the same thing with the SR25 - they use a 3/4 muzzle thread diameter for the same reason.

We don't have to be burdened by decisions made back in the 60s anymore. We can do things like:

Make gas ports smaller for suppressor only hosts
Make muzzle thread diameters wider if we're using a specific muzzle device
Make barrel shoulders tapered instead of square (the new BRT barrels have this option, didn't when I got mine)
Use an ideal gas system length instead of just carbine or rifle
Make rounded lugs on the bolt to reduce breakages
Etc.

I don't need my rifles to be backward compatible with everything going back to the M16A1 because I'm not maintaining a nation's military supply. :)

Alright guys, if you're going to LARP as a Mandalorian at the range #thisistheway #weaponsaremyreligion etc... Make sure your weapons look like something a Mandalorian would carry!

Made some modifications to my 300 blaster that I think qualify it for this thread:

@DontBuryMe Had this very Elcan on his GCQBR! It's making its way around this thread lol

Glass is superb and 1x-4x is perfect for the 300 blackout. I'll have to research the translations for the 308 reticle, but I can't wait to get this zeroed.

@DontBuryMe Had this very Elcan on his GCQBR! It's making its way around this thread lol

Glass is superb and 1x-4x is perfect for the 300 blackout. I'll have to research the translations for the 308 reticle, but I can't wait to get this zeroed.

Got a CTR to try. Ditching the SOPMOD since it made things a little to heavy in the back, and I felt like the sloped side tried to force my head too low.

I can see why the SOPMOD would be good on a full size gun with a can though. It's a heavy motherfucker.

The problem is that using a rear bag or bracing with your offhand can make the stock collapse and BOOM orbital fracture.

Yeah I've heard about that happening a ton.

ETA: This statement is a joke, in case it isn't clear lol.

Replaced the Elcan with an NX8.  Working around the house, the eyebox isn’t bad on 1x like some of the reviews I’ve seen have suggested.  Seems a bit tight on 8x, but I’ll have to see how that plays out at the range.

Now I just need another MAWL to replace the DBAL.  My wallet hates me.

You're right, I'm exaggerating - but if you see someone taking pictures of their sr25 and it has the factory sopmod stock, you can tell they don't shoot it much

Due to my former range situation, I'd never had the mini nsw past 100.  At my new range I took it to 500 this morning.  13" barrel in a 20mph cross wind making consistent hits at 5.  I was damn impressed.

Bipod was out so far because to hit 5 I'm shooting way up hill.  The picture compression is extremely deceiving.

13.7 withe p/w surefire.  Just got the collapsing stock, along with a 9” 300blk barrel so once I form one this thing will be small.

Far out.
I know right haha

I'm a little in disbelief still.  At 250 I started losing faith because the wind was pushing m193 everywhere.  Switched to 69s and pushed out to 4.  Then switched to 77s to make 5.  30 hits in a row at 5 with about 1.5 dialed on wind.
