Thanks man. I was expecting a dead nuts match to the rail but it's a tad different. PRI said that the H265 cerakote color was slightly modified by cerakote so there are some variances.

Still looks great. Had him do the stock also so it was a better match.

Thanks.  Actually ended up going with 2 to give me a bit more height, but it’ll work well now.

Thanks dude. I love it! Just ordered an adjustable gas block to tame a little more gas since it's 99.9% suppressed shooting.

3 kids under 4 are killing that at the moment.  It will happen.

The open pistol and 25k of 9mm a year isn't helping either.

And just for funzies

lol I think those were taken back when there weren't a ton of low variable optics and I had a couple of leupolds; amazing how fast things change.  In comparison to the options today that was a horrible optic, but it sure looked good in pics, and at the time worked for me pretty well.

thanks I used rustoleum camo dark forest green , earth brown, and khaki. Khaki base coat =, spritz of green all over, and then custom stencils my wife cut out of MC patterns. Place stencil give it a hefty close spray.

So I have my 14.5 mini in 5.56 that I enjoy quite a bit.  But it lacks thump down range (500 plus)

Looking at potentially doing a mini in 6.5 Grendel.  I have seen some nice results in 6.5 forum.  But figured I would ask in the non fanboy area.

Pros:
Better ballistics
Could hunt deer with

Cons:
Harder to get mags
Ammo cost

I'd say do it. I have one in the works to go with my 10.3" 5.56 mini. Just can't decide if I want to do 12.5" or go 16".

I am definitely doing 12.5 if I do it.   Most shots will be 5 and in.  Thinking of doing the PSA build kit with 12.5 adjustable gas upper and SB3 brace until I get another stamp in.

Game shots would be inside 200.

Tuned the Seekins gas block this morning. Getting 4 o'clock ejection with 55gr and 75gr with a dirty dry bcg.

Loctite everything down and man is it an even smoother shooter now. Little to no gas to the face!

Tuned for suppressed I assume?

I really need to get off my ass and put a BRT block on some of my builds.  It amazes me how quiet at the ear my mini-nsw is.  At the ear, it is the quietest build I have because that bitch is straight choked at the gas port.  The smoothness is just a nice bi-product.

Yes. I ran a few unsuppressed and it cycled fine. Didn't lock the bolt back though.

How my rifle looked a bit ago. Since then I’ve switched to a 10.5” barrel, different handguard and an Eotech. I think I’m going to go back to a low power variable with a minor red dot as my eyes are getting worse.

Can't speak for Triarc, but I can say that 12.5 middy is probably the smoothest shooting shorty I've ever shot. 12.5" middy KAK that I built for my dad. Ran really well with whatever I put in it and was extremely smooth.

Two questions @SDMF_Rebel:

1. How does the Steiner compare to the NX8?
2. Would you recommend the NX8 over the 2.5-10x24?

Thanks

Steiner optically stomps a mudhole in the nx8s ass.  However, the nx8 is tiny, light, FFP, amazing reticle, and bomb proof.

I'd recommend the nx8 over the x24.  However, I have both and love both.

Having owned and used both, I choose NX8.  Even at over double the cost, the size, weight, and usefulness of 8x overtakes the P4Xi for my purposes.  If I wanted a 4x LPVO, I’d go back to an Elcan, as the Elcan smokes the P4Xi in pretty much all categories, IMO.

The local 600yd range is about done, debating on going back to the NX8 to have a little more fun past 400. Was debating on an atacr but I think it's gonna be over kill price wise on this rig.

The Steiner is just so good at 1x. I'm torn.

Always. I think I'm settled on the 6.5 at least now ha. Finally having a membership to a range that's got 600 is changing things.
